When putting on foundation, why do you put it over your lips?
Why put on lipliner if you are going to cover it with lipstick?
Why do you put lip gloss over lipstick?
Does primer even work?
Do all the skin routine really help your skin?
I have seen people who use expensive products and their skin is horrible.
Why do you use so much concealer and brighten the face too much?
Why contour the face? It is not like your face is going to stay that way.
Why use such expensive products if they do not distinguish from other products when you are wearing them?
Do you guys actually go into public with so much makeup on?
I am just really curious.

You can put foundation on your lips it won't do anything I just wipe it off after
Lip liner helps keep your lipstick on longer and helps prevent feathering

You put lipgloss over lipstick to make it shiny and even to change the color a bit
Yes primer works to keep your makeup on all day and if you find a good one it can blur some pores and even out your complexion
Not all of them you need to find a routine that will suit your skins need all skin is different
Everyone's skin may react different to products or around their monthly and even in different climates and they may just be acne or irritation prone.
When taking pictures it looks more flattering and draws attention to the areas that you want to emphasis it's the opposite of contouring, with contouring you want to make those places less noticeable buy sculpting your face to look oval
No but it gives the appearance of an oval face which is considered the ideal face shape
It may be the quality of the makeup that product gives you could buy a $1 eyeshadow or lipstick and an hour it is gone or smeared when you can buy a $30 eyeshadow or lipstick and it could last all day
I do yes.
I hope I helped I'm a self taught MUA and still learning everything myself. I am not a professional though just in my state you do not need a license so I qualify as a self taught MUA

1. You probably shouldn't it will dry out your lips, but you do it to create a blank canvas for lipstick and because I've heard it will make it last longer.
To outline the lips evenly (basically drawing an outline of the area you need to fill in) and to prevent the lipstick from bleeding
To make lips appear glossy/ plump/ fuller. A lot of make-up artists will dot lipgloss in the middle of lips to give the appearance of bigger lips
Yes if you buy a good one that works well with your skin type and foundation.
Yes, a good skin routine is personalised to your skin type with products that will work with your skin and help it.
I'm sorry but thats like asking why wear foundation when your skin won't look as good when you take it off. Its preference and how people want to be perceived.
I'm sorry I can't answer that, I don't buy high end products.
You'd have to ask everyone seperately. But for me, yes. (That questions a bit rude, I'd consider rephrasing it)

1. Some people apply it over their lips in order to completely even out the skin tone, for others I hear they use it as a base for lipstick.
2. It keeps the lipstick from feathering (going outside the lips) or can change the color of the lipstick entirely.
3. If the lipstick is matte, to give it a shine or give it another bit of color.
4. Erm, for what? Your face, eyes, lips? In my experience, yes it does work. My eyeshadows always last MUCH longer when I use a primer as does my foundation.
5. This is going to vary from person to person as different products work for different people. So for some people, yes, for other people, no, and for others they are just trying to wait and see results.
6. "I" don't, but other girls to do bring light to their face and bring light to it. Some girls nave a natural lightness in areas where people put concealer (forhead, cheeks, etc) like me, so when foundation gets put on my skin actually gets darker. I don't use conceler, but if I did it would help bring that lightness back to my face. And 'too much' is really a personal opinion. Some girls do do it to much, others are fine. But as long as they're happy with themselves that's all that matters.
7. Makes some girls happy, and as long as they're happy about themselves again, that's all that really matters. The ideal face shape is oval, not round, and thats what the girls are getting without having to really change their face through surgery.
8. Quality. My Lorac Pro Palette is 10000x more pigmented then any ELF shadow that I've ever bought. With some products the price difference doesn't make a difference, but in others there's a BIG difference. my $2 lipstick is lightyears away in quality from my $15 lipstick (and not in a good way)
9. You make it sound like it's a bad thing. I understand you're curious, but some of your questions are coming off a little rude. To much makeup to one person may be anothers every day thing. I don't wear makeup every day, but when I do I go all out (with the exception of concealer, lip priner, bronzer, false lashes, or my brows) as that's what I feel like doing, and other days I'll just do my eyeshadow. It's whatever I feel like doing but I'm going to walk out and strut my stuff either way..

I agree Erin this is quite rude. I completely missed the concealer question but it bewilders me why you came on a make-up app/website to critise people who wear "too much". Please remember that everyone likes different things and to be respectful of that.

I agree with Jacqueline. I'm also beyond thrilled you added the ph scale and people's lifestyles!
The questions came off as rude especially about wearing make up and contouring. In my opinion though you can tell high end from low end. Especially at the end of the day.

Maybe she just didn't really know. Probably just curious it and not used to wearing a lot of makeup in public. I don't think she meant to be rude
