Make your hair damp...put in a high ponytail and twist your hair until eventually it will form a bun then just secure it and sleep over night, the next day you should have lovely curls

I'm not sure how you can get ringlets but I know how to get curls.
Really it depends on you hair. So you might have to try a lot of different things. I know damp hair does help me at all. My hair won't dry then.
There are a lot of different ways to curl hair though. Sock bun, cocoon curl, braids, twisted coils and the baby wipe trick. Also there are more out there than that ^_^

Buy a very thin curling want and curl your hair by wrapping it around the wand. The smaller your wand is and your pieces of hair are the smaller and tighter your curls will be.

Twirl a small pieces of hair around your finger then secure it with a bobby pin. Leave it in overnight and then awake with gorgeous heatless curls.

I twirl a small piece of hair until it naturally bunches up and forms a bun. Then I use bobby pins or those hair clamps and secure it. I do this 2-3 times and sleep in it :)
