Exactly!! And I had to learn that the hard way, as much as I love my mom she didn't really care how I dressed or who I hung out with. Bad parenting flaw on her part I think... I mean yea I was old enough to know better but I also was a stubborn teen who like you said saw all these "pretty" girls super popular and of course I wanted to do that too... And my mom just didnt notice or care... Either way I'll try and be more on the ball with my two girls.

Claire, I am not saying it's okay for girls to dress like sluts. What I am saying is that if they're dressing like that it's for a reason. That reason maybe the fact that they want attention or like the attention of guys. Believe me, I don't like seeing girls in skanky clothes neither. But it doesn't matter what you or anybody says, they don't care & they're going to keep wearing that crap so might as well stop saying things. It's not going to change. And we All blame society but WE ARE society. Everyone is different & no body can change anybody.

We as adults and parents should put restrictions on our kids when they go out... Not just shrug our shoulda and be like meh they want it anyways.

I agree ray. We are they parents. If I had a 12 year old daughter tell me she was going to wear a mini skirt. You better believe I will stop her. I don't care what she says!! She's not even able to vote or live on her own. Be the Parent not the friend. It's up to US as Parents to Not allow our kids to go dress like little hootchies. A girl gets a guys true attention when she is herself not dressed like a hootch. If you really want your Child dressing like that that's on you. Do I disagree yes, do I see that as horrible parenting Yes! Will that child and parents be talked about yes! Do you want to really be one of those people who others whisper and talk badly about? That's all up to you. You all know my opinion on this.

Yes We Are the society, so why not teach our children properly and how to dress properly. Do you really want your kid coming home saying someone called them a slut or any other derogatory name because you allowed them to wear that..

When did I ever say it was okay?!! I'm saying people are going to do it anyway! Of course I don't want my child wearing that type of clothing, that's ridiculously stupid. You are twisting my words around, I'm saying that we blame society when we are society!! You guys are saying we should teach girls to wear appropriate clothing when half of the girls and ladies out there do the complete opposite. I never said it was okay, I'm saying girls are going to do it anyway! If it's my child of course that's not happening, I never said I would let my daughter wear skank clothes, but for the other girls that you have no control over there's nothing we could do!

If you are talking to me Karen I never twisted your words around. I'm saying if we like you say "we blame the society when we are the society".. I'm saying we as a society to teach our children to wear appropriate clothes. The parents out there that allow it are the ones we" blame". No girl is going to do it if they aren't allowed and if they do I'm sure they will get in trouble. It's parents out there for ray's mom for example, that didn't tell ray that no, she couldn't wear that bc it's not appropriate for you. I'm not saying ray turned out bad bc of that but she ended up having self esteem issues. That and worse stuff can happen to kid when parents don't care enough to step up and say no! If a 12 yr old girl got raped bc she was wearing a mini skirt, I wouldn't blame the child. I'd blame the man who did it and the parents for letting her leave looking like that. I don't even think little girls should be allowed to wear skirts half up their thigh. But that's my personal opinion. Let kids be kids bc they aren't any more! Not even in school. Bringing homework home in pre k.. But that's a different discussion.

Good job on the slut shaming guys. How ones clothing is doesn't mean that's how they act. Guys should be taught not to rape and attack and sexually assault, if they can't stop themselves because of how a girl was dressed that's like saying a murderer couldn't stop themselves from killing because of how the victim responded. Women of the LGBT community share locker rooms with other women yet they don't feel the need to stare and make the girls in there uncomfortable. What parents should be teaching is that "boys will be boys" and "oh that's just how boys are" just are giving them excuses because of there gender. Not only are they treating guys like they are animals who can't control themselves they teach them that they could use that as a valid excuse. Girls are constantly told to cover up in schools so that they don't distract guys. But not once in the school handbook does it say anything about a girl getting assaulted.
Now back to the actual question, Tripp mini skirts are really cute and so are hell bunny.

I totally agree the male should be taught to treat girls properly and respectfully. My son will be one of the respectful ones or his daddy will knock his ass to the floor

I'll chalk up my thoughts to being old school and a bit more conservative on some stuff. But then again I didn't go out on public in mini skirts when I was young either. I don't see how it's ok for a girl with big boobs to let them be showing a butt ton of cleavage and not ok for someone to wear a piercing. It's more of a distraction of a girl's boobs showing than a piercing. But now I'm off topic lol. I just want to say one more thing about cleavage showing girls in public.. Personal experience : I was at a skating rink and was told to leave bc of a tattoo that was showing, but a girl no older than 16 had half of her chest showing and that was accepted.. OK I'm done with the off topic =)

Again I also say a child that age shouldn't be allowed to wear that.. And that's the parents fault.

Back in my day mini skirts were actual "mini" skirts, not just regular skirts lol. But anyway, yes boys should be taught to respect girls and girls should be taught not to entice boys. No matter how you look at it, at whichever age if you wear something like that you are asking for attention. Even if you like the style you are still aware that it draws attention to yourself. It's sad that over time society has started turning this way and the world isn't as safe as it used to be, there are a lot more predators out there. The risk of predators is increasing yet people seem to be dressing more and more provocatively everyday. People are going to do what they're going to do and you can never please everyone. Everyone has their own opinion and it should not create a fight between all of us. Hopefully the discussion might inspire and help others.

Miriam I'm sorry that happened to you. He could have gotten in much more trouble than just suspension. Girls shouldn't wear booty shorts to school. And the school needs to step up and enforce the rules! But I totally agree with what Shauna just said. Idk what more I can really say. People are going to do what they want

Btw Shauna did you feel old when you said "back in my day" Lmao, bc it did me hahaha

Miriam if it becomes a bigger problem for you and other girls who go by school rules and get "attacked" by a boy the school does nothing about it, go to the school board /board of education and talk with them about the issues
