Can I ask what you're using to contour?

There's your problem :) bronzer's aren't meant to be used for contouring. That's because they're normally pretty sheer, or orangey or shimmery. The reason it looks muddy on you is because you have to apply a lot of bronzer to get the same effect as a thin layer of foundation/concealer/contour powder would give. Therefore it looks "dirty." My suggestion would be to try a foundation or concealer that's 1-2 shades darker than your skin :)

Maybe you're using the wrong shade for your skin tone? That's the problem I had for a while I also started blending way way more.

I agree with Hannah :) I was having that problem until I started using loreal true match powder in a darker color and it looks so much better

You might be using a shade too dark!

I'd recommend any kind of concealer, to start off. Like Mairead said, make sure it's cool toned and just about 2 shades darker than your skin tone. I've heard good things about contouring with the L'oreal True Match Lumi Concealer, though =)

Try and use a darker cream foundation or concealer or if you prefer a bronzer find one darker and use either the real techniques setting brush or blush brush to contour.
