Agreed Marissa! as for the oils some can tolerate it just fine others have issues. sometimes over moisterizing can clog pores and lead to break outs. Regan you said you just started the oil around Christmas so the timing seems to be right as you are breaking out more. I'd really try to stop usibg it and see how your skin reacts. by process of elimination you can find the cause. absolutely keep moisterizing, try switching out the clean and clear for cerave or cetaphil. the one your using has a lot of fragrance and can irritate your skin. try incorporating a leave on salycilic treatment for the acne you have.

Thanks Danny! I'll just borrow my mom's cetaphil moisturizer for a while and see if it helps my skin. (:

Your welcome Regan. the cetaphil won't treat your acne but is much gentler on your skin. to add regarding the oils, I can use argan oil just fine but if I use coconut oil to often I have issues. everyone is different and its all a process to see what works best for you.

Everyone's different but when I look at the ingredients on cetaphil I see just words I can't pronounce and nothing that benefits the skin. And the products you mentioned you use are also bad for your skin. I am a huge fan of Origins skincare. Since using their products I never have broken out again. You need to be gentle to your skin. If something burns your eyes what do you think it's doing to your skin? Just read the ingredients and do research on them. Sometimes I go to Paulaschoice and I search every ingredient in a product. If there is an irritant ingredient than I don't use it.

Either the wipes or you are allergic to something you are eating, is there anything you have been eating a lot recently?

You need to stat using retin-a. It's amazing stuff. It takes at least 3 months for your skin to get accustomed to it. And most of the time it gets worse before it gets better. Lots of dry, peely skin. But with a little bitch of patience, after the 3 months you will start to see much more even, softer clearer skin. What it does is accelerates your faces exfoliation process, this bringing newer skin to the surface faster. Btw, don't ever skip on the moisturizer. When we skip hydrating our face it starts to get dry and when our skin gets dry our body's natural defense is to produce more oil to combat the dry... Leaving you with oilier more clogged pores
Hope this helps. Try the retin-a it's amazing

I've dealt with acne for years. I've taken all prescription and OTC stuff and even Accutane which cleared everything up pretty good except for minor breakouts. I would NEVER put oil on my face. When you have acne you should only use products that are oil free and non comedogenic and I've been told this by more than on dermatologist. I know the face oils are new and if this is one specifically for acne prone skin, it may be ok but otherwise no way! I stuck to a simple face wash like cetaphil and use a product with benzoyl peroxide like proactiv but there are tones of similar ones you can buy in stores. I think a toner with glycolic acid or salicylic acid will help too. Every product you use should be designed for acne prone skin or oil free and non comedogenic. I like the cetaphil moisturizer as well.

I'd go with the wipes. I generally don't like makeup wipes though, but I know that even when I'd use some in the car just to get the makeup off, then go home and actually wash my face, I'd be broken out as soon as I was done wiping my skin. It's honestly better for me to leave my makeup on and then just wash my face with water and a cleanser. Also if you're using just the makeup wipes to remove makeup and then nothing else, there's probably still all kinds of stuff left in your pores and on your skin that can break you out.

I don't think it's the oil because natural oils (like the one you're using) are actually really great for the skin. Using an oil can help balance oil production because your skin will be getting the moisture it needs and won't be overproducing its own oil to compensate. That being said, everyone reacts to things differently. I'd cut out whichever you started using more recently and see if it still persists. If it does then you'll find out which product it is that isn't agreeing with your skin. If not, I'd remove another thing you started using recently and see if that does anything.

Also, this is just my opinion here but I think that the Simple line is absolute crap. I've tried a few things here and there and was never pleased with any. Seems like it's just a gimmick to sell product because people will assume that because the name is simple that it's all natural and whatnot when it probably isn't. That's just my opinion though, I'm sure it works for some. I just don't think its as "simple" as it claims to be.

There is this mushroom called scoby and it looks like a pancake. if you drink tea, then you get two benefits. the kumbucha tea can only be made and taste right if the scoby is alive.

The scoby you set on your face for 15 minutes and it clears out your pores and cleans acne fast.

Make-up wipes damage your acid mantle, apply a cleanser/toner/moisturiser for your skin type twice daily, and steam once a week, apply witch hazel directly on spots to kill bacteria and running ice over spots will reduce redness, a mask for your skin type twice a week will also help

The products you've said you use all seem quite harsh, you could be overworking your skin, and need to try more gentler products, if you have sensitive skin skip the witch hazel and apply a clay/seaweed mask diectly on to spots to draw out impurities (studying beauty therapy)

A word on ACCUTAINE. I used it 6 years ago, and I had the clearest skin I've ever had. But after that it all went down hill..For those of you that don't know what ACCUTAINE is, it's a pill that you take for around 6 months normally. It's basically supposed to dramatically decrease the amount of sebum (oil) produced by your sebasious glands.
First off, it's terrible for your body, you have to have blood tests ever month to make sure your liver isn't failing or your brain isn't swelling. Like I said my skin was clear, but after the 2 year mark it came back with a vengeance. My acne was wrote than ever. It also have me IBS (irritable bowel syndrome) and I an also HIGHLYYYYYY lactose intolerant now. None of these existed before I took accutaine. A couple of years after I took ACCUTAINE lawsuits came out sayin that people were getting IBS, chromes disease and other gastro/severe digestive complications. It's too much of a risk for something that might not even last. It completely altered my life, and not in a good way
