I just put it on my lashes for the first time, how soon can I expect results,, or does it even work?

I've never tried it but I wouldn't expect results over night. Maybe a few weeks, that is if it does.work.

I used it and it seemed to make a difference after a week or so. But the ladies on here have said it isn't very good for your eyes so I stopped! I'd do research first before you apply it a lot!

I used to use it to and it took about a week but I stopped also and use vitamin e oil and olive oil now.

It doesn't work.

I felt like it did make a change. It might have been psychological but I swear my lashes became stronger, which, in turn, made them look longer. I figured, you moisturize your hair to make it grow, the same concept might allow lashes to become stronger.

The only thing that will make your lashes grow longer is Latisse. It's a myth that Vaseline or anything like oils will make them grow. Even if you condition them so to speak it doesn't change the growth cycle. The most it does is give the illusion that lashes are thicker because it clings to the base. But you can get infections from getting Vaseline in your eyes, so I would strongly recommend you don't put it anywhere near your eyes!! Jacqueline wrote a great post about this and someone posted a link to it on another post. I'm on the app so I don't think I'll be able to locate it quickly but if anyone can find it and post it, she explains the growth phases of the lashes and why things such as Vaseline don't work. It's a really informative post and definitely worth a read!!

@karli you don't condition your hair to grow though. Conditioner works to hydrate your hair. Helps strengthen your hair shaft and prevent damage to the cuticle. (Short story) Hair growth happens within the body.

I didn't mean conditioning your hair would make it grow. o wasn't being completely technical. However conditioned hair=moisturized hair=healthier hair=more likely chance of faster growth.

Caitlin is right. Vaseline does NOT make your eyelashes grow. anyone who tells you otherwise is misinformed & hasn't done their research. only Latisse will make a change.

I don't think it works but castor oil does magic!

It doesn't really work and it's bad for your eyes

It's really a personal thing. a lot of people say it works, some say it doesn't! for me it worked, it made my lashes longer and thicker! and I don't see why it's bad for your lashes, I mean it's just Vaseline! I mean as long as you just apply it to your lashes and not get any in your eyes I think you'll be fine, I use it every once and while and I've never gotten any in my eyes.

You can expect to never see results, beyond having more conditioned lashes & a possible eye infection :/
like a few of the other ladies have stated, the only thing that will make your eyelashes grow is Lattice. oils & Vaseline will only condition your lashes. however, Vaseline is a sealant & it will clog up your tear ducts which can cause an eye infection. so.. you should stop using Vaseline xD maybe look into Lattice if you really want to grow your lashes.

Here is the thread made by Jacqueline H and she had mentioned in the thread Vaseline does not work she share's my experience in that thread about my younger days as a no mascara teen, since we've had many talks about myths in beauty that don't own up to rumor.not only vaseline but any other oil that don't work. She explains actual growth we all go through with our lashes.here is the thread and be prepared to be informed

It doesn't work to make your lashes grow. The Vaseline coats them, making them APPEAR thicker but that's it. Please read the link Alma posted

Caitlin M.
Thank you for posting the link Alma. And it isn't a "it works for some and doesn't for others" thing. Vaseline is not as great as people like to believe it is and it can clog ducts in your eyes and cause infection even if you don't actually get it directly into your eye. It shouldn't be used around the eyes at all! (And I personally feel it shouldn't be used on the body at all but that is a whole other can of worms that I won't get into because it is sort of a shaky issue and everyone seems to feel differently.) But regardless, it doesn't work and isn't really safe to use around the eyes at the very least. Please don't compromise your health for the illusion of thicker lashes!

Your welcome Caitlin ( And it isn't a "it works for some and doesn't for others" thing) lol That was my quote that was used in the thread because we had a discussion on my experience and my thoughts of all the hoopla of Vaseline used for lashes.:)

^ I thank you as well Alma :3
I just feel it's important to break this beauty myth because, like I & a few other girls have mentioned, Vaseline can cause infections & eye issues. as well, better to inform people rather than letting them buy oils & products that won't work. only a waste of time & money :c
