There's a generic version of shimmer lights that's about the same. Or mix a hair mask and a TINY amount if semipermanent purple dye. It'll give your hair more moisture, shimmer lights can be drying.

Also use the keratin complex deep conditioner. It's purple and helps to eliminate the brassiness.

Use a blue based toner. The copper is closer to orange than yellow, so you want to cancel it with a blue based toner like Ivory Lady.

In the picture it looks like a caramel color but in person it's actually brassy.

Danielle when you used the shimmer lights shampoo does it just only affect the highlights or all your hair because my base is brown and I don't want my brown to lighten up.

With the wella toner, do I mix it with a developer? and will it only fix the highlights and not my whole hair right?
Jan 13, 2014
Megan S.
Yup you mix the toner with the wella 20 volume devolper, it will just change the tone of your highlights!

To counteract brassiness in your hair, use a color that has a blue base to it. they sometimes are called ash or cool in the name. blue or violet cancels out red tones or play it safe and use anything with a neutral base. try a demi color or a semi so you don't damage your hair any.

Audra , so don't use the toner? you suggest the demi or semi dye?
Jan 14, 2014

Toners can help for a subtle difference but still use developer and the non permanent will deposit color without using a developer so you will get color without any damage. its kind of up to you.
