Hey everyone. just wondering if anybody has any tips on making a wash out dye last longer. I use crazy colours and there meant to last a good few washes but mine fades after the first wash and I like my hair bright. Thanks.

The most important thing is to be sure to use a sulfate free shampoo. It literally strips the color right out of your hair.

Also cold water closes the cuticle and hot water opens it so when your hair is under running water try to have a colder temp so the color can't escape as much.

^ what the other ladies said.
also, shower as little as possible.. or I guess, wash your hair as little as possible :p I usually try to wash it 2-3 times a week after I get my hair dyed. on the days I don't want to wash my hair, I'll put a shower cap over it & then wash my body or whatever.

I would invest in a dry shampoo! I have oily hair and with my blonde color and well water, the less I wash it the better! I found that not your mothers is a great one to try!

Try a clear toner that just adds shine and seals the hair. sallys has one, I think its from ion and it uses a color infuser rather then developer so no damage.
