How To Apply Lipliner? First Time.

Hello ladies I have a few questions? I've been haveing trouble putting lipliner.. do you have to make a thick line or does it matter? and does it have to match the lipcolor? lipstick?

It's usually the same color as the lipstick so it doesn't really matter it's just to make sure the lipstick doesn't feather unless you're doing something fancy like an ombre effect

Honestly I don't wear lipliner so I don't know but you could probably Google it or youtube it :) just apply it INSIDE your lipline, not outside

Just lightly stencil the edges of your lips. After you do this you can also fill in your lips a little bit with it. A lot of people then smooth the line with their finger tips.

I use a brown lip liner around the edges. I just create a medium thick line then blend it inward.

I don't wear lip liner often, but when I do I usually pick a colour that is very similar to my lipstick, but a little bit darker. I find it makes my lips look a little bigger/fuller.
I fill in my lips a bit past the edge of them, then blend the line out. I apply my lipstick, make sure everything is well blended & my lips aren't overly lined, & voila :D

Or you can just get a clear one and then you can use it with whatever. or elf has a lip locker thing that you put around your lips and it's also clear so it doesn't feather.

I use a clear liner first, to line outside my lips to prevent feathering. I then take a shade similar to my lipstick and line from the edge in, blending as I go. The key is make sure everything is even, so you don't get that 90's liner look. Applying concealer around your mouth can also help prevent feathering and give a sharp, crisp appearance.

You can also practice by applying your lipstick first, then blot your lips with a tissue & then apply the liner on the edge of your lipline. If your lips are uneven like mine, you may have to cheat your line by going slightly past your natural lip line. I use the back of my hand to blot the lipliner after I have applied to remove any excess, then I use a lipbrush to blend it into my lipstick. You don't have to always do it that way, but it may help while you're getting used to doing it.
