Noooo. proactive is active for some people but the other half is not so happy proactive has a very harsh chemical in it that makes skin react to it. I use to use proactive and then for some reason after 3 weeks my face broke out.

For me it mest up my skin!! I had normal skin and it made it oily it didn't stop they breakouts it was harsh on my skin that I only used 1 a day if not I don't know how bad it would have gotten. Now that I am of I struggle since I get bad breakouts and a lot of things don't work. It was the worst decision in my life!!

Oh then no way trust me I have even more sensitive skin cuz of it try natural remedies. Rub banana peels on your face 3 times a day and you will see results I do it once a day but I still see results not drastic but it helpes contain my breakouts.

I do not recommend it and unless you want to risk your skin getting worse, don't use it. With personal experience it worked great for awhile then stopped working. Also it dried out my skin so much and made it very flakey.

When I used it I defitently felt like I was better of without it.I don't know what it did but it really irratated my skin. It felt like it was on my face was on fire...it didn't feel or look good.I would make an appointment to go see a dermatologist. It will be your best bet.

I didn't think it was all that great, not any better than drugstore products with the same active ingredients. what I did really like was the mask as a spot treatment. other than that, not really worth the money. I think acne prone skin benefits more from gentle, non irritating products than the harsh chemicals typically recommended.

I currently use it but I want to stop. I've been using it for a about a year but it has a lot of harsh chemicals and at first it worked but now I'm tending to break out more (might be because I'm stressing because of exams too) and I'm noticing my skin is getting slightly drier (still oily but sort of flaky).

Proactive is so harsh, my friend used it, she had the most oiliest skin and as soon as she used it, it stripped all the natural good oils and she had a burning, red, patchy dry face!

My friend used proactiv to clear up her skin more (though her skin never had any problems) as she heard so much about it and wanted to test it out; after she used it she freaked out as she swore that it was removing her freckles (which she adores!) and said that if its strong enough to fade freckles then she considered it as a horrible product that bleaches faces. At one point on my life I also got interested in using it but as soon as I started to research into it more and read the reviews of people who used it I noticed that a vast majority of those who used proactiv (and had good results) got horrible side effects when they stopped using it; when their skin cleared up and theyd stop the usage of the product some people claimed that their skin would start breaking out and look even worse than when they first started in a matter of days, and suggested that it was because Proactiv was so harsh that it completely effed up the way their skin worked as it adapted to rely on just the products. However, like any product, it works miraculously for some people, makes no difference for others and for other people it makes matters worse; eitherway, I personally would not use it and nor would I recommend any of my friends to use it, and as Caitlin has mentioned above going to a professional, a dermatologist, would be a safer bet.

I don't have acne, just some breakouts on my chin during that time of the month, or when I eat lots of junk food. Proactive broke me out all over my face, I had pimples popping up everywhere. I used it for a month straight and it never helped.

I've read from some girls on here that one of them had some spill on the floor and burn a hole in her carpet. I know it has bleach in it. You can honestly get much better results with drug store products, or just soap and water lol.

I have noooo idea were all these stories are coming from but it DEFINITELY helped me sooo much. I use to have bad acne on my chin and cheeks and I don't have any at all now! The dark spot corrector really works too! I know that if you have a pimple coming, Proactive forces it out and get rid of it completely. So I've been told.

I used it and didn't care for it. as I've learned I'm not a fan of benzoyl peroxcide. have to admit the toner wasent bad as its aha based. there is no bleach in it its the benzoyl peroxide that will stain clothes and hair.

I agree w Betsey though if your skin is sensitive it may not be for you the cleanser can be harsh and then your layering a benzoil lotion over a alpha hydroxy acid

Yeah it's the BP staining, I remember this girl was saying her bf was using a benzoyl peroxide cleanser in the shower, and when he got out, the bathmat and towel had pink bleached looking stains all over it.

Proactive is VERY harsh on the skin.

It's like applying Mac foundation all the time to acne prone skin = really bad combo

Benzoyl peroxide makes for a great spot treatment but not in every item within a treatment program. Talk about overkill and very unhealthy for the skin. If its in a cleanser its diluted and its ok for occasionally use but not everyday. Proactive...I just can't believe that stuff is still around. I know when I first tried it (when it first came out years ago) it tore up my skin. Gave me an ashy white cast immediately after cleansing.

It's a no for me. Way too harsh.
