Hey girls! (: I just colored my hair a deep burgundy/reddish color(it's 5R from Paul Mitchell/ 6R over 5R on the bottom because I had ombré before!) and was wondering if you guys had any tips on keeping up the color! It was my first time coloring it! I have super oily hair and I normally washed it every other day but don't really want to because I know red fades faster.
Any tips/products to use to maintain the color longer before having to color it again? (:

You could get a red colour bomb to keep the colour vibrant and bright :)

I have the same issue! But you should wash your hair with cold water so the colour doesn't run so much, use colour protecting shampoos. They make ones specially for red hair but I use an argan oil shampoo which has colour protecting in it so it keeps my hair nice.

Dry shampoo is a life saver, wash with cold water as little as possible with color safe shampoo. If you want to maintain color easily you can buy a veggie dye like manic panic and buy a deep red, dip the tip of your pinky in it (only the too or it'll be too much at first) and mix it with your conditioner or shampoo and add a tiny bit more dye if you want a more intense red. Using alcohol products like hairspray will fade your color faster along with too much heat styling too. Oh and don't use a ton of shampoo, like when you're in the shower put as little as possible to cover your scalp, and then transition it to your ends instead of rubbing more shampoo on your ends. Itll help save color and shampoo lol.

Thanks for the tips!! (: I was worried I was going to have to color it as often as possible! Ha! And I'll definitely look into that color bomb thing! I've never heard of it before!

I suggest washing your hair less, using cold water, check out tressa watercolor shampoo in crimson red, roux refresh mask in fire red and dry shampoo!
