I have the Kat Von D foundation that I used about 1/4 of to try and love it, I wanted to love it so bad but its not suitable for my dry skin, I purchased it months ago, in October, I know like 9 months, and its in Light 42, I am pretty sure that shade was discontinued is there anyway I can return for maybe even store credit. Does anynone know?

I think they may give you store credit, you can always call your local sephora and ask them.
I did the same thing at Ulta for a hair curling wand and they gave me store credit.

Yes you can definitely return it. If you have the box you get in store credit if you don't you need to get the same product.

I don't have the box, the shade is way too light for me. I have tried everything, mixing it with moisturizer other foundation. But nothing seems to work for me, with this. I should've returned it ages ago, my Sephora is an hour away, but I will be making the trip soon as my birthday is in about 6 weeks, and I will be buying myself some new goodies.

I wish we could do that in the UK and Ireland. we are not allowed return used beauty items and we cannot return make up products at all even if they were not used! :(

I've always had a really good experience returning things to sephora even without the packaging or receipt. I've done it before and gotten store credit though I do think they have the right to refuse you if they suspect you of abusing the policy.

I hate to say I'm a pro at returning stuff to Sephora (this happens when your SA's don't know sugar honey ice tea...) and the terms are simple.
1. No Receipt? A-ok. As long as you have your drivers license or ID card you can return anything. Even if you don't have those things to return/exchange something that's ok, you can use someone elses ID. I lost my wallet and wanted to exchange some stuff so the SA and the manager just told me to use my brothers ID, we had no problems at all. I've returned a gift (friend got it for me and then my Secret Santa got it for me...) before and obviously I didn't buy it at all, but they gave me a store credit for it anyway.

Sarah I definitely understand, but there's been (on other sites) cases where people buy or trade with others and get ripped off. The person who got ripped off has sued websites for it. So it's just a legal thing.
I completely understand being pale, and I'm light 42 too and haven't been able to buy it again. But there's tons on eBay for 10$ more than sephora, and it's coming back in August

She's coming out with a new formula which is the other reason it's taking so long I believe. Sephora had a chat where we could talk to Kat and that's what she said.

Have you tried findation.com? You put in your shade and it tells you others that match. Like I'm the same shade and tons of foundations match me

Have you tried tartes Amazonian clay foundation? It was what I used before KVD and it's got the same thickness, plus tarte is made for sensitive skin. The only reason I switched was because the KVD was a tiny bit cheaper and more readily available (and then it wasn't) since my sephora gets KVD restocks every week but tartes are bi monthly unless requested. But I've been using tartes again, I got a sample and since I don't wear foundation everyday it's already lasted me almost three weeks and I've got half the little container left. But they are quite similar, they're both thicker like a cream and they're both full coverage if layered, not cakey and lasts all day.

Really? That's weird because when I went into sephora to sample it there were 4 shades lighter than me. If you're a light 42 for KVD and it's not too dark for you then you definitely have a match in tartes. Did you go into sephora to get it color IQ'd or did you just guess?

They each have different undertones, so the yellow based or neutral based will look too dark but the pink based like light 42 should be the right match. I believe the shade I wear is light beige, but I'm not 100%.

Hi, I actually work for the company! It's fine to return even though the date is that far. You will get store credit if you don't want anything else for it. I would call local sephora and try out the color iq for you and Sarah a having issues with finding fair shades. That is part of why color iq in sephora was made-to take the guess work out of finding a perfect foundation shade. It's free and they will email you a list of ALL shades and brands you match to. Hope that helps for both of you!
