It really just all depends. Some people have black-ish lips, some have pink, some have very pale, almost colorless, others have red lips naturally. I don't really think you change your natural lip color without lipstick/gloss.

I agree with Hailey. A product that enhances your natural lip color is the way to go. Don't fight your genetics! Your lips are beautiful! Play with them! I find that a chocolate lipgloss would look amazing on your complexion.
Many women try to get their lips to look like yours do naturally.
As much as I love lipstick I do advise not to use it too often, since it blocks the the sun coming in touch with your lips and give you a very pale-no makeup look.

I have very bright pink lips naturally and it sucks! I always look like I have a lip stain on, even when I'm not wearing makeup. I'm ghostly pale too, so the contrast is just strange looking.

I have naturally reddish lips.. just w/clear lip gloss alone it looks like I have a stain or colored lip balm on.
