Why are they soaking?? That might loosen the glue that holds the brush together. Wash them, rinse them and hang them upside down to dry!

Yeah but usually just washing them with baby shampoo or a brush cleanser and rubbing them on your hand will clean them. Then hang them upside down so the water runs out and doesn't loosen the glue. If you have a towel bar, you can use hair ties to secure them.

I don't think you should blow dry them, just because of the heat. it could also ruin the form of the bristles.
usually when I wash my brushes I kind of reshape them back to how they should be. if you blow dry them the bristles are blown all over the place & will dry all puffed out.. if that makes sense :p lol. I suck at explaining things.

No makes perfect Sense! I just washed mine with baby shampoo and now they're drying on a towel, I shape them and turn them over every once in a while. They seem to be doing okay.

And my blowdryer has a low setting with a "cool" button so I don't think it would cause too much harm to them?

Nooooo don't use a hairdryer! It will dry out the bristles and you'll end up with dry, scratchy brushes. Just let them dry naturally. And if you have a towel bar, I'm pretty sure you can check on pinterest for how to use hair ties to hold your brushes upside down.

Jacqueline explained in a different post why you should never use a hairdryer on them, hopefully I can find that or she'll post why herself because I'll never explain it as well as her.

I'm sorry your brushes may not be the same due to them being soaked in for awhile.Is the glue a bit gummy?Olive Oil is a Beast for brushes if you noticed they may be soft but the oil is still in the brushes when dried and they become flimsy. I'm not with olive or any oil for my brushes it changes the balance of the brush.in all honesty it does more harm then good the oil just makes them soft yes but doesn't help the form or texture of the bristles.Next time you get a chance use your brush after they dry from washing in Oil and get a plate add foundation on it and swirl your brush and you'll see the oil develop and that is why sometimes foundation also looks or slide after applying it after you have used oil to wash them.Just a thought I wanted to share :) As for blow drying not good at all you risk damaging the bristles.

Mix some dish soap and olive oil on a paper plate and swirl it around makes your brushes so soft!

I don't see any RUBBING ALCOHOL references. After the wash w/ mild soap, I swirl my brushes in alcohol to sanitize and kill yucky germs. It also speeds up the drying time X5.
