So guys, what do you think about make up? I'm really interested in everyone's opinions-is it your mask or a way if expressing yourself? What do you think?

My mask for sure... And I still haven't master it either :/ if I go out without it on (with a new baby that's more than usual these days) I feel very self conscious :/

It's my way of expressimg myself. And honestly...it just makes me happy! I love doing my makeup no matter how it turns out. I love experimenting with it even if I'm just going to lay around my house. I know it makes me look prettier but that's not why I wear it. I wear it because putting it on in the morning is the highlight of my day!

It's definitely a way for me to express myself. You can always tell what kind of mood I'm in by the colors and choices of makeup I wear! And Maressa, my favorite part of the day is putting on my makeup too! I just love it lol.

I feel as if it's a bit of both. Makeup makes me feel prettier therefor I become more self confident; which has made me the person I am today, without the makeup I probably wouldn't be where I am today. On the other hand I feel as I use it to express myself and feelings I do my makeup according to how I wake up and feel everyday or if I wanted to dress a certain way makeup would help me portray what I'm trying to be within that day x

It's a way express what one feels and show off their artistry no matter how good or bad you think you are.
Never have I ever thought of it as it being a mask. Unless you're getting face painting done. Makeup is a form art. Anybody can do it

I wear it because I like it! It's my passion doing it so it makes me happy.

I do makeup for me and I feel like makeup shouldn't be put on to cover up, it should be used to define features you already have :)
And it's your body, you should be able to do what makes you feel better and how you want to express yourself <3

It's abit of both with me! My skin isn't the best and I need colour on my skin as otherwise I look Ill. Also it allows me to be creative!

It gives me confidence and makes me feel beautiful and glamorous. It takes away some of my insecurities, which allows me to be more outgoing and fun.

Hmmm... I'm going to have to say both a mask and a form of being creative/expressing myself.
As a mask simply due to the fact that I suffer from Hyper pigmentation/dark spots. So full coverage foundation is my best friend, and sometimes I rush through application and don't cover completly but it's still better than nothing, so I'm ok. They're honestly not that bad and I am treating them of course, but they take so long to fade that my skin looks so damn acne prone even when it's not :/ I'm not really self conscious about it. I can leave my house without any MU at all if I'm only going on a run down the street to the corner store, but I wouldn't be caught dead in my nearest metro cities (Tijuana/ San Diego) without my typical fabulous full-face MU application :) It's just not acceptable to me to come out into the world not done up, I see a lot of that when I go out w/other women, (Bare faced, top-knot, sweatpants, flip-flops and a hoodie, Uh uh) but I personally refuse to do it, it's just not my style. I have the mentality of a 50's housewife on the subject of what's socially acceptable look-wise when going out in public.
Besides the above it's a form of being creative for me, I like to try out new techniques, color combos, products. It makes me feel good/happy and I like going through the process and seeing the transformation at the end :)

I don't find makeup as a *mask* at all. To me, a face full of makeup can't be made without the bare face you're naturally blessed with and to say that it's used as a mask seems a little silly to me but I understand where the thought comes from. It can make such a dramatic difference, I for one look completely different IMO without makeup but I couldn't create my made up face without my non made up face (hope this makes sense) but I would never think of it as masking myself, I think enhancing is a better word even if the person looks 10x different. Makeup can't change an individuals attitude so even if you look peachy as pie with makeup on, people are still going to see if you're a nasty person on the inside.

Both sort of.
A mask to cover up my blemishes, my tired eyes and dark circles.
Something to express with, especially with my lips. I love doing my lips according to my mood.
