I have heard if you rinse your hair with vinegar it will help to wt rid of it? Are there any other tips that I could use? Thanks.

I am not sure. With homemade remedies along with purchasing remedies it's hit or miss. Most likely your shampoo is drying you out. So I suggest getting different shampoo and get a leave in conditioner if you don't have one! This will not only give your scalp moisture but also give your hair moisture. It's hard to suggest a shampoo because I don't know what type of hair you have. But lately my personal choice is Paul Mitchell shampoo and conditioner and joico? I'm not sure what it is called but that for a leave in conditioner. Both are slightly expensive but they are professional brand and restores hair and scalp.

Also* if you go for drugstore look for anti dandruff shampoo's. Head n shoulders is not my favorite. It didn't do much for me. Just throwing that out there as well!

I also used to have a problem with dandruff, so I started using Herbal Essences Hello Hydration shampoo and conditioner and it works sooooo well! I am still using it to this day! also what I do before I walk into the shower I put a whole lot of coconut oil in my hair and let it soak on your scalp for a few hours (I just do 2 hours) it's all very moisturizing! I hope this helped!

I would get dandruff because I was nervous to scrub my scalp, thinking it would create more dandruff. Your scalp is skin, and it does shed, so just massage your whole head gently but thoroughly and rinse well.

Add a couple of teaspoons of Baking soda to the regular amount of shampoo you use per wash. It gets rid of dandruff and makes your hair squeaky clean, but only do once or twice until your dandruff is all gone. Once you get rid of the dandruff you can usually use it once a month or every two weeks.

If you use baking soda you have to rinse with apple cider vinegar to restore the ph balance. And if your dandruff is caused by dry scalp, it'll only make things worse and dry it out even more.
I'd suggest washing your hair one less time a week if you can, and using a sulfate free shampoo. Most dandruff shampoos are made to use once, to slough off the layer of dandruff and usually cause more dandruff because they're drying and rough. Sometimes tea tree oil shampoos can help but if you have nosy cats I'd skip it. A deep conditioning mask or oil mask can help too. :)

It depends on what is causing the dandruff. If it is fungal, a medicated shampoo such as Head & Shoulders or Selsum Blue should knock it out. If it is product buildup, a clarifying shampoo and a good scrub in the shower should take care of it. If it is dry scalp, a moisturizing shampoo and conditioner will help, as well reducing the number of times per week that you wash. Perhaps even co-washing will help, if your hair type can handle it.

Baking soda is really abrasive, generally not a good idea to use on skin. Particularly when there is a risk of it running off into your eyes. Apple cider vinegar or white vinegar are both clarifying and antifungal agents; doing a vinegar rinse after you wash and before you condition can help.

Once you figure out what is causing the dandruff, you can treat it and get rid of it. Good luck!
