Hello ladies!
I've been considering dying my hair for a while now, ( A WHILE ) , and I've looked at many options. My mom doesn't want me to dye my hair, because so am sure she thinks I'm going to dye it green or something (only in my dreams..) , she said I could do much of a change and She doesn't want it to do much damn age. So, I have no clue whether or not I want to use henna, I don't even know where I could buy pure henna. My question is, what are your experiences with henna, and where did you buy it? How did it do as far as damage? I am not sure if I want to go lighter on my light brown/dark dirty blonde hair (it depends on the season) or a bit darker. Please help! If you could post color options for henna that would be amazing!

Be aware that you can't really go lighter after using henna. Henna doesn't act the same as conventional dyes; it coats the hair instead of penetrating the shaft. This leaves a very resilient red or copper stain over your natural color.
Many commercial henna preparations for dying hair contain metallic salts (which act as a preservative and increase the potency of the color). These salts will react with conventional dye in uncontrollable ways should you change your mind and try to dye over the henna. With bleach, the result is wildly unpredictable and incredibly damaging.
Many, if not most, salons won't do any color or other processing on hair that has been treated with henna as a precaution. If you do use henna and don't like the result, you basically have to wait for it to grow out.

Ooh, I've put henna on my hair before! it made my hair color orange and light didn't really like it but it only lasted for like a month or two. If you find an Indian or Arabian salon around your area they should have it.
