If you have black eyebrows do you have to use a straight black eyebrow pencil.

Depends what kind of look you're going for, but if you want a softer more natural one I'd say just use a super dark brown :) I also used to use carbon by mac (black eyeshadow) to do my brows, and it still looked really natural even though I have brown hair! Just start out slow, and make sure it doesn't look too precise and drawn on, unless you like that sort of look :)

I'd use two different eyeshadow pencils, a dark brown/black one and a slightly lighter one to add some depth and highlight, it will make it look more natural! Michellephan on youtube has some good eyebrow tips c:

I have black eyebrows, but when I fill my eyebrows in I just use a dark brown. Black in my opinion, looks too harsh.

Lol I agree! I remember I went through a phase of thinking black eyeshadow looked good when filling in my brows, now looking back at old photos...I regret it so much lmfao. I just ask myself why!

No you use a shade softer like charcoal or dark dark brown, but it really does depend on hair color.

I have an African american friend more of a light skinned to medium complexion so it seems confusing to me and I am a bit flustered. She always used black but it looks good on her though. Usually I hear you aren't suppose to use black so that's why I was a little curious and confused.

Most usually when filling in brows, you use a color about one shade lighter than your actual brow color. For example my brows are a medium strawberry blonde, and now I use a light blonde color to fill them in because it looks natural but I an still create a dramatic shape. Now just because you "normally" would use one shade lighter, doesn't mean you have to. You can most definitely use a black brow product, just make sure not to go overboard. A light steady hand is key.

My suggestion personally would be to use the darkest brown brow product you can find, but like I said do what you want. If you have any questions, feel free to ask.??

Well I also have black eyebrow and no matter what brown I tend to use on my brows it always shows and looks bad so I have no choice but to use black but it depends right :D

The hair on my heas is naturally dark brown & I highlight it with a caramel brown. But my brows are black, sparse, but black. So I use a dark brown to line the perimeter & a soft brown to fill in. I want my brows to be about a 1/2 shade darker than the hair on my head.

I have black brows and I use a black powder to fill them in when I'm doing a full face of makeup. For natural days I use a black thats more gray than black but I don't ever use a dark dark brown because it doesn't look right.

I have (dyed) black hair and eyebrows, using black is way too harsh for me. And using browns always look too warm. I personally use grey eyeshadow or pencil. It looks a lot more natural.
