I follow a few myself and what keeps me loyal and excited to read them is because the bloggers remain in engaged with their readership (answering questions for example). The material is fresh and current. And the writing is spirited/humorous at times. A great layout is helpful as well...nothing off the wall that it makes it difficult for me to read. Lifestyle segment is vast...so you will need to narrow that down. One blogger I follow has her lifestyle segment centered around home entertaining so she'll have recipes for different foods along with pics of her home parties. She ties in the whole fashion/beauty/lifestyle seamlessly. As far as the audience goes...you can only create an audience once you put the blog up and then its up to you to keep people engaged and wanting to come back. Its really labor intensive and as reader I'm satisfied with bloggers who post something everyday but I'm content with twice a week.

Post on a regular schedule. interact with your audience. write with your personality. make sure you have a list of topics to write throughout the year to see if you can keep up with each category. write about what people will be interested in (so if it's almost time to start school, write a post about back to school fashion or something). hope I helped :) I'm wanting to get into blogging as well.

You will also need a posting schedule so that the ones who are following you will know when to check your page. and try to be Constance. get your friends and family on Facebook to spread the word. :) GOOD LUCK.

A posting schedule helps and promoting your blog on social media is important. on twitter there are blogger chats where other bloggers talk such as #bbloggers & #fblchat on twitter. you can share your blog links on there & connect w/ other bloggers. also add your blog on bloglovin.com.
