A developer opens the hair shaft so the color can take there are different levels you'll most likely need it since your hair is dark And you want it to be light brown

If your hair is virgin (no.color or bleach on it) then you can use color to lift it. if there is color on it then you have to use bleach. I would recommended going to a pro. lightening dark hair can result in orange.

It says on the bottle that whatever your colour hair is it gives you highlights.

You use anything with a developer hun what kind if developer.
