How bad is dye for curls? 😭😱

I really just want a change, and people have already OK'd the color but I just want to know how bad does dye really damage curls? My hair is actually thick and isn't really fine, and incredibly healthy for being blonde and curly haired. I saw henna dyes aren't as damaging, but how bad do dyes really damage curl patterns? I really don't want to damage my curls!

I have curly hair as well. Dye is damaging to all hair. Don't use box dye. Go to a salon or use Sallys Ion line. It is great. By the way amazing curls (:

Hi Claire!
I can't answer about dyes, but about henna, it's really healthy for hair, if it's real pure henna, but it will lose your curls. Henna kinda straightens hair a bit.

I wouldn't use henna dye but that's just me and hair dye will eventually make your hair straight that's what happens with my hair it was naturally curly but not as curly as yours but my hair eventually became straight and now most dyes pretty moisturizing or something cause sometimes after I dye my hair it will feel better than before I dyed it.

My mom uses hair creams/oils and light weight gel and it looks fine, not as shiny as hair that isn't dyed but it looks good.
