I shower my hair every single day, because my hair gets very oily in the roots even after just a day and my hair starts to smell bad too :( but I've heard you're suppose to wash every other day??!!

Every three days, if you wash it often it will dry it out.

Depends on the person. some wash daily, some can go 4 days between washing. keep in mind washing everyday strips hair of it's natural oils making it over produce them. try showering every other day & using dry shampoo in between washes. it sounds like your hair doesn't like daily washing.

I wash mine every 2-3 days. To help expand your time from wash to wash you can try dry shampoo or baby powder.

^I agree, I used to wash mine twice a day because I was always riding a Honda and working but I found that I didn't have time for washing my hair every single day due to work and wanting to hang with friends so I slowly stopped.

I wash my hair once a week. once I wasn't allowed to wash my hair for 2 weeks. by the end of the two weeks it still wasn't oily. make sure that the products you use aren't for dry hair. just wash your hair every 3 days. it pretty much depends on the type of hair you have.

It really depends. Usually, the more you wash it the more oily it'll get. I used to wash my hair everyday and my hair was so greasy, but after training it by going longer between washes I just wash it once a week and it usually doesn't get oily until like day 5, which is when I bust out the dry shampoo! But then I have one of my friends who washes her hair everyday and has tried training her hair but it won't work for her, yet she has the healthiest hair I've ever seen. It changes from person to person:)

Like people have said above, it depends on the person. I have to wash everyday because overnight my hair gets disgusting. If it's working, don't change anything. Everyone has different hair.

I have oily hair, big time, so I wash every night. I skip if I can, or use dry shampoo. Frequent showers don't make my hair overproduce or anything; it makes the same all the time. It is what it is. Blow drying can help with grease, as well as dry shampoo or baby powder to substitute.

Yeah it depends ,
like my hair doesn't get oily that fast.
I wash my hair on the 4th or 5th day of the week.
& my hair doesn't look oily after those days , it just feels oily on the 4th or 5th day.
& my hair doesn't smell either.
my hair is very healthy & long.

Even if your hair is oily don't stop using conditioner. Shampoos have sulphate in them which strips your hair of its natural oils so your hair will produce extra oil.
PS: Only use conditioner on the hair from your ears down...NEVER on your scalp

Personally, my hair lasts me about 4 or 5 days. It really depends on the person. But to cut down, you just have to put up with it being dirty in between washes, and your hair will adjust eventually. Start with every other day, and gradually work your way to longer durations :)

I wash it every 2 days and use conditioner once every week.

I had the same issue. My hair was oily every day and barely grew. And I can honestly say since I've switched to washed every second day, it's gotten a lot better & grows faster!
For the first few weeks your hair will be oily from just trying to adjust.
My advice is keep excuses oil from your face so it doesn't transfer into your hair and invest in a good dry shampoo.
Dry shampoos come in either a spray or a powder. For me personally I prefer the spray KMS Hair Play. But where it'll be really greasy at the beginning I recommend a powder shampoo like Cake.

If you're looking to wash your hair less often but don't know if you should because it gets oily, try using a bore bristle brush. If you do it right, it evens out the oils in your hair so it doen't look greasy and you can skip a couple of days.

Everyone tells you that you shouldn't wash every day because it's bad, but I agree with some of the ladies above-it depends on you and your hair. I wash my hair at night and by the next morning it's greasy. I use dry shampoo in the mornings and t works, but there's no way I could go another day. And my hair is healthy. The most important thing is to use a good shampoo for your hair type and using a deep conditioner weekly.

My hair is exactly the same. It looks oily and greasy near the roots a day after washing it. I go back and forth between washing it everyday and washing it every other day. I shower every morning so wet hair is hard to deal with. But when I did wash it everyday it stayed looking and feeling pretty healthy even though it strips the natural oils. If you like washing it everyday and your hair still looks good then continue on!!
