For all of those things I would definitely look into going to a school or program that offers a license/certification. YouTube videos are very helpful but they won't get you a cosmetology, estheticion or nail tech lisence, which in many cases employers and clients want to know you have. YouTube can help get you familiar with terms and products but I would get a professional education on all of them if that's what you really want to do.
I went to a special effects makeup course and I learned a lot and got a degree, but I don't have an official estheticion license, which I regret not having because I want to work in both beauty and effects and its hard for me to get jobs where they want someone who is licensed.
The short answer: get certified!! lol. Sorry for the rambling, I hope this helps!

This is a talent that is yours to create. When I was younger I would go to the malls and stare at the ladies at the counter and watch them transform other women. I created my makeup kit with everything I could get on sale from Rite Aid, Ulta, Coastal Scents and Hautlook. I recreated lots of looks on myself and other family members. When I needed more experience I created a Model Mayhem account and followed the casting trail. I have also purchased the popular makeup books and found them the be incredible resources. Goodluck.

I done a course then built up experience through working on counters for big name brands, doing this allows you to experience and network, practice on other people and take before and after photos for your portfolio, you tube is great too.

look into beauty schools where you can get your cosmetology license or to become a certified estitician. you should also try getting a job at a makeup counter, beauty store, or any other job related to beauty so that you can have a somewhat better understanding of working with clients and applying makeup, demonstrating products, or teaching women helpful beauty tips. a beauty school will probably help you develop a portfolio too so you can market yourself better. if youre unable to do these things at the moment, practice makeup and hair on yourself and your friends. educate yourself by learning techniques online and in beauty magazines and books.

watching tutorials on you tube wont make you a makeup artist!! You need to look for a good school.

While youtube gurus do help, many of them don't consider color theory, hair color, eye color or skin tones into their application. While one particular look great on them, it may not work across multiple eye shapes, etc. Subscribe to Professional Makeup Artists that have done editorial work like Lisa Eldridge. She has technique when it comes to her makeup looks.

watching videos is fun but it doesn't make you a makeup artist. I suggest classes and lots of practice as a good starting point
