I have always wondered that when people seek out services from you they expect you to be the level of MAC and don't see beyond that. Does talent of a freelance artist not count as much or MAC is a market brand people get allured to?

Having worked for MAC as a permanent artist people just have a certain expectation for your skill level. However, I was a freelance artist before working at MAC and it is truly more important that you market yourself well and display confidence in your ability.

I am a artist that started at MAC. the training and skill your around everyday is hard to beat...but now I work for production studios. I think it's attitude and confidence in yourself. I am thankful and very proud to be certified with MAC but its my hard work and willingness to step out on my own that has got me here!

Thanks for your input. I actually interviewed with MAC sometime before but I did not appreciate how the regional manager was rude in some sense. I am happy for what I have learned on my own and through my makeup artistry course as well. After all I tell this to everyone, everything is usually based on merit and talent and what skills you actually have to be a good artist.

It's funny because I've gone to some Mac counters where I question the skill of some of the Artists because of how they do their own makeup!?

Yes, i have to agree with Yesenia there are people at my local Mac counters that make me cringe when I see their makeup. No blending, wrong color foundation ect. I thought their hiring process involved makeup application is that incorrect?

Last time when I interviewed she said their is makeup application process but maybe it's different. The district manager I met was a bit rude
