... start with the intention of a simple/minimal application of make up and end up ohh...20 minutes or so later with a full face done?

The shopping for comfort thread had me think of this.

I'm currently a counselor for the YMCA's after school program, so dress is of course very casual. Whatever look I go for, my makeup needs to be long lasting because I'm either sweating playing with the kids inside or sweating outside. lol

But I always start with simple in mind when I look in the mirror. Then look out... it's oh, I need a little shadow in the crease or my eye disappears.. then oh, a color liner would be fun for the kids (they do NOT miss ANYTHING LOL)... and then now I need to add something under the eye to balance it... then hmm... lip balm is making me look washed out... add a pale pink lippy... Ooops, too flat, have to add a gloss over it.

What happens with you lovelies?

It takes willpower to keep it simple, or running late! Lol

I'm surprisingly good with minimal makeup looks when I'm going to be outdoors or at something casual..working, etc. BUT for a night out, I always end up overdoing it and have to tone it down. I walk in the bathroom and look in the mirror and say, "Whoa..What the Hell?!"  haha.

Happens to me all the time. But I work in the beauty industry so I work with a full face. When I want minimal my go too is a bb cream but them again I add lashes. Lol.

You're not alone. I go in with the mindset of keeping it simple but then the next thing I know I have a full look. Luckily where I work creativity with hair/makeup isn't an issue. The only time I have to be mindful is when I have to go into court with a client and speak on their behalf. BB cream,powder a lil blush and a very subdued lip gloss.

I'm with ya girl! But instead of 20 min it's an hour lol sometimes!! Also I carry a ton of makeup In my purse so when I'm trying to be low key I get in the car, look in the mirror and add a lil of this or that lol. On my low key days I do what Shelley said to a t. Bb, powder, blush(very light, dandelion), and a light gloss. I go to ymca too and I just do bb, but I'm usually sweat a ton not working. But who cares?! Do it up girl!! Enjoy it! Makeup is a fun hobby😺😸💋💋

Lmao! Last weekend I was taking my son to soccer practice and he asked me if we were going to a party after cause I had full face, dark smokey eye. I did not plan on that look I was just going to do some mascara and lipgloss but got carried away.

Me. This morning. Had to skip breakfast. BUT when faced with the possibility of gorgeous makeup or food... I'll always choose makeup. (unless its Starburst Jellybeans in which case all bets are off. I may not even shower. ;-) )
