If you are paying someone to do your makeup (around the $30 range), would you be offset if they are using non "high end" products?
Would the use of low end products bother you? Is there such thing as a balance of low and high end products?

The one thing that I would suggest is that if you were to do a client for $30, whether they're expecting high end makeup or not, depot everything. clients don't need to see that you're using Wet N Wild eyeshadows, or if you're using the Naked palettes. just put it all in a nice, easy Z palette, and apply everything as you see fit.

I think it doesn't matter as long as it looks good because I have a lot of high end makeup and a lot of cheaper makeup and a lot of the cheaper makeup a much better! So as long as it looks good and stays on nice then it doesn't matter really.

Mmm.. It depends!!
If you have tried it and they are really good it will be ok :)
but I prefer professionals products if I have to pay someone else to do my make up

Do what hannah said.
as long as the end result looks good and isnt going to crease smudge or look like you used bad quality makeup. because some low end are just as good as high end (:

Very clever, Hannah!

Personally, it depends on the product.
You can use low end shadows, mascaras, lip products, liners all you want. When it comes to facial products, it's a whole different story, I'll provide my own foundation, concealer, etc.if I need to.

Thanks ladies. Hannah, thanks for the tip. I'm in the process of depotting all of my kit lipsticks right now. 😊

Lasting power is key. if it lasts and looks flawless doesn't matter the brand :)

$30 is on the lower end, I think, so I wouldn't be surprised or bothered by it. Personally I think A LOT of drugstore products are awesome.
Like Hannah said, depot everything and no one will be the wiser.

Honestly if your paying $30 that aint nothing thats really cheap, remember your paying for them to do your makeup not for the products being used, if she was to only use high end products you would be paying more for her to do your makeup, you pay what you get for in other words and as to what hannah said about depoting makeup its a good idea and for someone that doesnt know about makeup they would be easy to fool but to people that do, they would know right away, lets say we are doing jaquelines or almas makeup and wr use wet and wild makeup instead of urban decay or any other high end makeup they would laugh in our face and think we must be stupid if we think they dont know lol

Personally, I wouldn't care what products are being used! As long as I LOVE the end result it doesn't matter for me! As long as it agrees with my skin and stuff as well!

These answers were all very helpful. Personally I really agree with Jackie. It makes a lot of sense. But I do think Hannah had a very cool idea.

Thank you and thank you Miss Jacqueline for the detailed reply. 😊
I do agree $30 is practically a steal for getting your makeup done. I took your advice and looked up some other artists through social media in my area and most are charging around the same point. I think the highest I saw was $45. Keep in mind these are people just like me with no real professional training, but they are all older with a bit more experience.
The high end things in my kit are Smashbox primers, UD setting sprays, MAC Paint Pots, depotted MAC lipsticks. I use strictly Makeup Geek eyeshadows and UD on request.
The low end stuff I have is BH Cosmetics foundation. I used it on myself first and I actually like it better than my MAC foundation. I also use their concealer palette. Other low ends include NYX pigments and lip colors and Maybelline mascara to prep the lashes before falsies.
Hopefully I can be able to eliminate the drugstore things from my kit all together!

I also agree with everyone that the longevity is really what matters too. That's why I spent the money when it came to priming and setting because I knew it made all the difference.

I don't think it should matter as long as you were happy with the results you got and that it looked good
