Andrea, my boyfriend is the same way! He understands but when I decide to be cheap about something or ask him to split the cost, he'll be like, how come you can spend alll this money on makeup? But I'm like whatever you spend allll this money on your car, then he shuts up lol.
I don't think $10 more a month isn't too much to ask...I understand tho, I didn't subscribe to birchbox for a couple of months because even tho $10 isn't much sometimes it just doesn't fit into the budget.

LOL my BF thinks it is dumb too but I don't care. I told him it was that or I was going to subscribe to shoedazzle and it would be $40 a month for new shoes. I agree with you Amanda $10 isn't too much to ask even if you get a box you hate. I remember 2 months back getting the Orange wipe things I just gave them away as I am allergic to Oranges and I didn't want to risk breaking out in hives. I also didn't care much for the healthy fruit/nut bar in the last box but whatevs... it's $10. I hope mine comes today... jeeezzzo peeeezzzo

OMG - I was like.... So if I use these I'll have a tan face and white body skin. awesome. I gave those to a friend that used one on her face and the other on her arms and calves. LOL. And I am unemployed - no justification of cost needed. I like it so I buy it (!) when a month comes that I can't (Like October, BFF's wedding) I'll skip it. I don't think my husband has caught on it costs anything.

My August box. http://www.beautylish.com/v/sciis/birchbox-august-2011
It's okay, I was upset at first since I was suppose to get box 1 which has a Smashbox primer but figured I'm not going to get everything I want. At least last month Birchbox was good to replace two lost boxes (which eventually did show up) so I'm not upset with them. Still hate Streamlite though.

I would have liked to have tried the mascara and the washing grains. I like the masque - I've use it twice and probably have 2 more uses. Oh and I wore the hair ribbon today. I can't really complain. It kept my hair in a pony all day without slipping. But I do have a crease since I pulled it tight.

LOL I know the feeling Althea! My box came last week but my daughter's has yet to arrive and the tracking last updated in NJ on August 11. According to Streamlite it can take up to 10 BUSINESS DAYS to arrive at it's destination... which means August 30! I'm sorry but that's NOT acceptable especially considering the weather (heat) can damage contents (lipstick, lipgloss, food, anything that can melt or explode).

OH MAN! I'm sorry to hear that Yasmin! Try contacting customer service, maybe they'll find a way to make it better.

Birchbox is aware. They replaced my box and my daughter's box last month because it had gone missing. Birchbox then investigated why so many (not just ours) disappeared last month and the reply from Streamlite to them was the some items can't go on a plane and must be driven cross-country but still that doesn't really explain why it takes that long. I've had packages from Boston go via UPS ground and take LESS time to get to me than Streamlites packages.

oh nice! That is a good idea, because if I like it, and we can really choose our own samples, and shipping goes well and all that stuff, then I will consider switching, I would much rather choose my samples, then I know I will be trying things that I may like! :) I am excited now!
