Because my skin is oily, I have to go for matte formulas & find that it gives my face a kind of flat look. I want to invest in some highlighters since I've been obsessed with that JLo glow look lately.
Also, quick Q: Can you apply liquid highlighters over powder? I'm afraid that it'd come out cakey.
What's your fav highlighter?!

My Sephora Illuminator (it's a liquid highlighter)! It just gives me the perfect dewey glow.

Hi Andrea!
I've used liquid highlighters over powder and as long as you do it lightly, you should be just fine. I personally like using eye shadows and pigments as highlighters. I know exactly what you mean about that glow. It's so fun.
My personal favorites are MAC Eye Shadow in Photo Realism. I also like to use MAC Pigment in Naked. It's SO pretty. Then my last that I've been using lately is TheBalm's Mary-Lou Manizer!

i have this old maybelline cream shadow trio in rose revolution that i use the lightest shade to highlight with. :] it's a bit of a pinky-golden highlight, but it's light enough and looks natural. also, ELF studio blush in Gotta Glow. Someone said it was a dupe for albatross so I got it and it's SO pretty :] I don't like to use matte finish highlighters because i feel like they don't do anything for me. But a little trick is to put on a bit more liquid/cream highlighter than usual under your powder foundation. I read it in a magazine. :] hope that helped!

I like Benefit's High Beam, Girl Meets Pearl, and Nars' Albatross. They each have their own unique finish. High Beam is a very light pink sheen and it's very luminous. Girl Meets Pearl is probably my favorite, it's the most natural looking of the 3 because it has a sort of peachy base to it. I find myself using Albatross the least just because since it's a powder it doesn't last as long as the other two, but it has this beautiful golden finish to it, it's amazing.
You can definitely put liquid highlighter over powder, and another thing I recommend is try not to apply is in like a straight line because it makes it look really obvious. I like to apply it in sort of a small criss-cross so that it blends with the other more matte parts of my face.

I thought the same thing would happen (the balling, or caking), but I've tried a few different highlighters/luminizers and it doesn't really happen so yay! I love the MUFE Uplight (They're a bit pricey, but very little goes a LONG way), and I love Benefit's Bikini Line eyeshadow as a highlight for my eyeshadow, cheekbones AND down the bridge of the nose. NARS albatross is GORGEOUS! It's so unique, I can't even describe it.

Lately I've really been digging the NARS Nico blush. I would hardly call it a blush though- it's super light. I actually purchased it on accident because I though I was getting NARS Albatross (the packages were right next to each other) but I ended up with Nico instead. I didn't really know what to do with it, and I didn't feel like returning it, so I just ended up getting Albatross as well. Although I like Albatross, I too have oily skin and found that something Albatross would end up making my skin more oily. So lately what I've been doing is after applying under eye concealer, I set it with NARS Nico and it gives my undereye area & tops of my cheekbones the NICEST effect. I don't look oily and gross, but it adds a nice glow to my skin that is pretty hard to achieve with highlighters for me. Try giving NARS Nico a chance! :)

I have pretty dry skin, so I love using a liquid highlighter. I love using Benefit's Girl Meets Pearl, I use it only on my cheek bones, and it looks amazing!

I've never bought an actual highlighter yet. I've always used eye shadows as highlights. So I guess I can benefit from this post as well. :)

I love using the eyeshadow sin from urban decay :) It looks great everywhere! My cupid's bow, inner tear ducts, above my cheekbones, down my nose, and even under the brow bone! (Not all at once of course!)
I also love my victoria secret radiant face trio, and virgin from urban decay on my inner tear ducts and under my brow bone. :) I have even used my mac viva glam lipstick to highlight my cheeks and it left a pretty creamy shimmer <3
