Ok, so I have been battling with broken capillaries under my nose (under my nostrils). I normally just put concealer on and deal with it, but the coverage does not last. I know that I should go out and buy a green concealer. I am attending a wedding at the end of this month and I want to look my best. Any suggestions on what I should buy? My problem is I dont have alot of money, and I dont want to buy one of those palettes that has 5 different concealer colors. The only colors I could use is the green and apricot, I think. I do have dark circles so I was thinking the apricot color would work for that. What is the best out there? I need HELP!!! Thanks!

Try Dermablend Cover Creme - it works and it lasts. The stuff is potent, so a little dab will work. Powder it afterward.

And maybe try addressing the cause of the broken capillaries too?

I will check out Dermablend. Thanks!!! And there is nothing that I can do about the broken capillaries that does not include going to get "work" done. I am not at the point in my life where I want to get anything done to my face yet. Plus... I cant afford it. Do you know something that I dont know?

Avoid the needle! You're too young for that.

Broken capillaries are usually a result of sensitivity to something; caffeine, the tannins in red wine, spicy foods. Maybe eliminate things from your diet and see what happens? And drink a LOT of water, and do a facial massage when you're cleansing. The water will plump up skin cells and the massage will bring a better flow of blood to the area, which can sometimes help break up the appearance of broken capillaries. Also important - a good SPF. Can't stress it enough.

Good luck! Let me know how the Dermablend works for you!

Thanks for the tip! I dont think its food b/c I have had these for years. It might be from stress b/c I do have plenty of that. I will check out Dermablend and see if I like it. I know it is expensive but if its worth it and really does the job then it will be worth it. Thanks!!!

You're welcome, doll! Dermablend - worth every penny, and it'll last a long time.

Another thing to keep in mind that I was told, washing your skin too vigorously or often can also cause broken capillaries. The only real way to get rid of them, supposedly, is thru lasers. A very unobtrusive procedure that people can even do during lunch break on a work day. Just food for thought!

I know its not a big deal to get laser... I just dont have the $$$. I am a Nursing Student and broke. haha. When I am working then I will consider that. Thanks!

Yea, I hear that. I'd love to get the laser surgery done for mine as well. Just can't afford it. I've been covering mine with green tinted concealer so far. It's tricky since I only use mineral makeup.

I just bought the Physicians Formula Conceal Rx Physicians Strength Concealer for redness and it works great. Just be sure to apply little by little just so it doesn't overpower in green-ness

Do you use pore strips? I found that those caused mine. And the physicians formula concealer is awesome, but I found that the mac pro-longwear works awesome for me

@ainslie... really?!? I am going to switch my toothpaste and see if that changes anything. I really hate the way it looks.

WOW... those pictures are severe. The thing I am talking about is not like that. I have broken capillaries. There are no bumps other then the occassional black head or pimple. But thanks for the info.

My sister actually has this problem. We found that taking her regular under-eye concealer, and adding a bit of orange pigment to it, covers that problem.
