Scents that bring back memories

Has anybody else ever smelled something and it just floods you with memories?


Whenever I smell the Jergens Self Tanner it reminds me of the first semester of my senior year in high school.

Whenever I smell lavender scented things it reminds me of when I was very young. I don't know why though, I'm guessing my parents used lavender scented shampoo or body wash on me or something.

Whenever I smell cigars it reminds me of my grandaddy because he used to smoke them and he would always smell like them. It also reminds me of his Dodge Dually because whenever I would climbed into his truck it would always smell really strong of cigars!

i totally know what you mean! every time i smell paris hilton's perfume i forgot what its called but the cylinder bottle that's black and pink...well every time i smell that it reminds me of sophmore year of high school. this was before i can afford fancier perfume haha. and the smell of treseme hair spray reminds me of when i use to do theater

Britney Spears Fantasy ALWAYS reminds me of NYC - I visited there for 2 weeks and My mom was wearing it the whole time. Coffee reminds me of my grandma, I remember being 2 years old and I would run around the patio with my cousins and she would always give me a sip. :)

I relate to that, when I smell water and bricks, I don't know how to explain that smell, but is fresh and muddy and you know just amazing....
it reminds me when I was little and i used to get wet playing with water.
I luv to smell that it brings tears to my eyes and make me so happy when I smell that smell.
Is kindda hard to explain the smell, but is my fav anywhere, cuz brings back so many wonderful past memories.

coffee more like dunken donuts reminds me of home. but mostly my step father keith he passed away a year and a half ago.i rememeber wakeing in the morning going to the bus stop for school the smell of coffee and donuts in the air. going to d &d for him and my mother ...

cherry sented perfume/body spray. or the cheap cotton candy sent reminds me of me and my best friend from 7th grade til highschool we wore the same cherry sented body spray her mother loved it so we always had to buy more cvs was alway sold out because of use


pasta and cheese reminds me of my grandmother always cooking and ready to feed any grandchild who walked through her door even if you just ate dinner that excuse never worked, you always left full with food to go... weather it was bannanas and oranges or cookies and brownies and some stuff shells

Certain scents would always remind me of watching my Mom get ready for work. YSL Paris, Paloma Picasso, and CD's Poison. She'd always spritz me with the YSL. I suspect that was the beginning of my love affair with perfumes.

The smell of rain, leafy forests, and wet dirt would always bring back a rush of my childhood. I spent a lot of time exploring the "kampung" and getting dirty, much to my Grandmother's dismay.

Also, the interior of a car that's been out in the sun for a while has a smell that always reminds me of the times I'd spend as a kid riding around in my Grandad's lil' Mini Cooper as he ran various errands.

To look back on these things and shed a tear or two for missing them is a sign of having had a good life, I think.
