I have no trouble using nude neutral make up but when it comes to color like for exemple purple I don't know if its me or the way I put it but it just look sooooo wrong ... soft pink and peachy color are no problem but when I want something bright that stand out I can't . How are you applying the purple shades? If you can write out the process and placement of how you apply it, we can be able to help you better. =D

i stick to smokey looks when applying color but thats me personally. I have hazel eyes and sometime they look more green so I love to play them up with a bright orchid purple on the lid witha plum in the cream and blend out it just makes the green in my eyes pop.. With color I would start slowly use a smokey purple shadow as a shadow liner on your upper lash line and so on :)

When you become very use to seeing yourself a certain way it's kind of jolting to suddenly try something different. You are acustom to wearing the nudes so something as deep and vibrant as purple will look shocking the first couple times. I knew a girls who loved her nude lipstick and refused to wear reds no matter how much I insisted. I would force her to wear the color all day and at some point she became very use to it...now loves it and it's hard to get her out of it. I really don't think there is a right or wrong way to apply makeup...its art and self expression...whatever you feel comfortable with. The real trick is to get you comfortable in purple.

You mentioned purple and a look I did not too long ago came to mind! This is a fairly basic smoky purple look using one of my favorite MUFE shadows. Would this be the type of look you'd be comfortable with?
