I have oily skin and I hate wearing heavy liquid foundation and cakey powder foundation. I thought I'd try mineral foundation because it's light and it won't clog my already clogged pores. So I was just wondering what the best mineral foundation on the market was? That's affordable?

hi Ciera.... I use Bare Minerals and I love it, doesn't even feel like your wearing makeup and it makes you look flawless, and not cakey looking or feeling.. and the best part is you skin can still breath.. hope that helps =)

I'm currently using Coastal Scents Exotic Skin minerals. $4.99 for a sample of four mineral powders. If you have normal beige skin then you might want to try their normal line. Exotic Skin is more for those with a yellow or olive complexion.

I've used Bare Minerals and love it as well, but recently I've started using Pur Minerals! Its slightly more matte than Bare Minerals, so it might be better for your oily skin. I really love it! I use the color "Golden Medium" which is good if you have Med skin with a yellow undertone.

When I had horrible acne and wanted to give my skin a breather, I tried Meow Cosmetics. Their foundation that provided the most coverage (Fierce Feline) covered the same way my liquid foundation and concealer did. But my skin was able to breathe through the make up.

Their samples are about $1... they have a HUGE amount of colors (86 shades that can me overwhelming at first)... and is an independent online store. You must make a minimum purchase of $10 to order. So the first time, I think I ordered 6 different sample shades of foundation... and tiny containers to hold them in w/ swifters and it was a little over $10. The samples lasted a few applications. Then when I got the bigger size (they also have a HUGE size)... it has lasted me over almost a year (still going).

They are very generous w/ their sizes and prizes. And being on that for a few months -- my horrible acne went away (that and a few other things I had to change/do).

Bare Minerals has a great price point but I recently picked up Bobbi Brown's mineral foundation and to me it totally blows BM out of the water. The best thing to do is simply sample them all to get the best results that you're after. Both lines are sold at Sephora so it would be simple to snag a few samples to try at home.

ugh...I (not too long ago) did a video about mineral makeup which can be viewed in the link below.

If you don't want the feel of makeup i suggest you not wear makeup. Mineral makeup is going to feel like you're wearing nothing because technically you are. With OILY skin within an hour or so the oil from your skin is going to soak up the powder rendering your skin bare which is probably why they call it Bare Escentuals. I really don't know what makeup you use that is clogging your pores since most foundations are non comedogenic. What you feel on your face that you associate with "heavy" is the oil from your skin which I still feel even when I don't wear foundation. If you want a light coverage maybe you should consider a tinted moisturizer. You don't have to take my advice but the video is worth watching if you're thinking about going with mineral makeup and maybe you should read the comments people posted on the video about their experience with mineral makeup.
