travel sized brushes , YES OR NO

i've been wanting a few good brushes and i saw this eco-tools brush set that seemed great , but i didn't get because it was travel sized and i don't know if the small handles will affect how much i use it or not, what's your opinion on that ?

I think it really depends on what length brush you are comfortable with. I remember I was watching a video where Vanessa (vanewpc) where she said she liked travel size brushes because she does her makeup pretty close to a mirror so the smaller handles don't get in the way.

On the other hand if you prefer the weight of a brush when applying, a regular size brush may feel better to work with.

I prefer travel sized brushes. They're easier to store, and I feel like I get more precision in blending and application with them, since they're smaller. I don't feel any difference in use from the lack of handle weight.

I would definitely use travel sized brushes more if I found good sized face brushes. The biggest I can usually find is like blush-brush sized.

oh okay, awesome, that was what prevented me from getting travel sized brushes but i'm definetly going to try them out now :)

:) The travel sized brushes from eco-tools were actually the first proper brushes i ever used. I loved the travel sized ones and then the regular sized ones even more.

My first quality brushes were a mac set, they were the smaller sized ones. I like them a lot. I can't tell to much of a difference.

I personally don't like travel size brushes because you blend better if you hold the brush farther back on the handle.

I personally do not like travel size brushes. I have the mac holiday travel size brushes & the only one i used was the foundation one. The brushes work well. But I just can't deal with the small wants. I like my brushes long for some reason I feel like i can apply my make up better. I don't know if it's just me but i just dont like them.

gah, now i don't know what to do

I personally wouldn't do it. There are so many great companies that sell brushes and you can get those roll up brush carriers for when you travel. A bruh set that I like and that come with the travel kit is quo brushes.

I agree with Jasmine J. On this... Travel kits are usually machine cut and the quality is not the same with other full sized brushes that are either hand cut or virgin hairs. If you're looking for quality short handled brushes, Hakuhodo has some great ones, and MAC has a few short handled versions of their black handled hand cut brushes... Unlike their holiday sets that are machine cut.

I find no difference with lots of synthetic brush brands like Ecotools or Sigma's Sigmax synthetic line. The difference is there if you purchase animal hair brushes though.

If you visit Tarte's website, I highly suggest this:

I have some of their travel brushes from kits I've purchased, and they're way better than MAC's holiday sets and some of their full sized blushes! Their blush brush is feather soft and applies the most delicate amount of product too! Hope that helps!
