So, my bedroom is in the basement, and yes I do have a window, but it's in the most awkward spot in my room where I can't film in front of it. I have a really... REALLY bright light that helps in real life for makeup and stuff. However, when I'm filming, I look so washed out and like, completely white, and you can't see colours truly at all.
I just filmed two vids with this light (you can see the first at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O1mxD7RDxDg ) and it was really hard to work around!
I've tried covering the light with parchment paper to take the edge off, and it helps, but not totally. Any suggestions, ladies and gent(s)? I'd really like to be able to record in my bedroom with all my makeup and stuff, but this sucks.

I like the lighting! If you're having more trouble with being washed out it's because you're the only source that's getting light. The room around you needs to be lit as well so the camera doesn't only focus on you.
