I have a similar issue in winter. I'd say for your dry patches you want to use a really good quality moisturiser morning and night. In the morning really let it sink in for a while before you use any make-up. For the redness, I just cover up with foundation and then concealer on top on areas that need it, but if you've got a real redness which shows through, you can actually get colour correcting products - a green toned product would counter-act redness. You can usually get this kind of product at The Body Shop but other brands will have them too. I hope this helps xx

I agree about using a green corrector on any redness, it really works well, I apply a layer underneath my foundation over my chin and cheeks as those are my problem areas.

I've got extremely dry skin and i love the green Smashbox photo finish primer :) Oilatum do an amazing inexpensive moisturiser for super dry skin, but i'm not sure if you can get it outside the UK.

There is a Loreal Green Corrector it is a liquid so easier to work with. You have to apply lightly with it though ( used a foundation brush) Or the MUFE one. I love the Benefit Total Moisture Facial Cream for any dryness.

The MUFE corrector IS great! I love that stuff, it's like a photoshop tool used to cancel out the red! It's more of a moisturizer consistency too, and not silicone-y, which will def. help with hydrating your skin. If you want to try a good moisture base underneath that - you can use their HD Elixer as well... [it's like the best pick-me-up in a bottle ever!]
As for application, make sure you have a moisturized and primed canvas, and use cream blushers instead of powders so you don't accentuate any dryness in your skin. Also, use your fingers to tap the product into your skin VS using a brush - which could cause microexfoliation if you buff your skin too hard.
If you're looking for a more affordable moisturizer, try CeraVe's moisturizing cream. I had a tub of that last winter when my skin went ridiculously dry [flakey, gross!] and it fixed me up proper. You can easily find it at Target, CVS, Walgreens, etc. Good luck!

I have very uneven skin tone especially during winter and my skin tends to flake so deff. moisturize, conceal any redness, and even it all out with a great moisturizer! Also since you skin is dry make sure to exfoliate atleast once a week to get rid of the dry skin

Cetaphil is a great moisturizer but don't use to much or it can leave you face oily. I have really sensitive skin & my dermatologist recommend it and I've been using it for many year.

I have the same problem in the winter time. Boots Anti-Redness Serum is really good for redness correction. You can get it at Target. Put it on at night after cleansing, it helps calm the skin and smooth it out. Also, moisturize a lot!

I have really dry skin as well I found i could never wear any foudations that looked nice on my skin But The i found BB Cream Its one of the best things ever I use the Skin 79 VIP Gold Collection dose wonder for my skin overall also try using cream blushes as they are a cream based product which shouldn't dry u out and make you look glowing!
But Skin Care Is the key to have hydrated skin, Nothing to expensive I love Nivea's skin care line for dry skin its absolutely hydrating!!

The above ladies have already given some awesome advice! I agree with most and I cannot stress enough how important it is to MOISTURIZE the heck outta your face, especially during these dry, winter months. I work for a dermatologist and we see these issues all the time. Have you seen a derm to see if you might have rosacea (with the dryness and redness, it might be worth checking out treatment options).
Moisturizers, green correctors, and a good moisturizing foundation will be your best friend!

Last winter I was always red and blotchy and Clinique Redness relief cream totally fixed me up! Eucerin makes one too that is almost as good. Then you don't need correctors, etc :)
