Hey Beauties! I recently bought a sunscreen to use on my body that came in a bottle with a spray thingy. It said lightweight formula non sticky, spf50, and that's why I bought it. When I first applied it it smelled like alcohol, so I checked the label and said it contained alcohol.
So my question is: should I use it? Is it safe for my skin?
What other sunscreens do you recommend?

What was the sunscreen?

I've noticed that snscreens that come in a spray form do tend to have alcohol in it. I guess it helps with drying on contact. I know for me personally I can't use a lot of spray sunscreens since it's so drying to my skin.

I agree with Shelly. If you are cursed with skin that is easily dried out, it's bad. On the flipside if your skin is pretty oily or moisturized naturally you shouldn't have any problem. After awhile though, it may start making your skin more oily to makeup for what your skin has lost, or it may cause you to get breakouts from being so dry if you live in a dry climate.

Thank you Shelley and Cameron. I will use it only for when I go to the beach. What sunscreen do you guys recommend me to use on a daily basis on my body? I was thinking La Roche Posay....

I use Vanicream Sunscreen SPF 60 over my regular body lotion if I am out in heavy sun like in the summer when I have more skin exposed. It's ALOT more SPF than you need, but I use AmLactin on my back and Carmol 20 lotion from my derm, so I need a decent SPFover on if I am out in the sun with exposed skin otherwise I will burn or develop hyperpigmentation. In the winter I just use Eucerin Everyday Protection BL with SPF 15 since I don't expose much except my face. = )

I use Ahava Mineral Sunscreen Protection Spray SPF 30. The alcohol is very faint in this formula and is actually second to last in regards to ingredients list and it doesn't dry out my skin. That I use all over the body except for my face. I actually tried La Roche Posay for the face and my skin reacted well to it but I still have a bottle of Peter Thomas Roth Uber Dry SPF 30 remaining. For day to day I use Neutr. Moisture Lotion with SPF 15. Hope this helps Bella P.

It depends on what kind of alcohol it contains, was it 'cetyl' or 'cetearyl' alcohol??? Not all alcohol is bad!
