Because it's a concealer, it covers the dark circles. So rather than highlighting the dark circles, it's highlighting your eyes :) I don't have the Touche Eclat, but I do have an illuminating concealer and that's exactly what it does :)

For really bad dark circles I agree, use a corrector first. But if it's not that bad then go for it. My friend uses Touche Eclat under her eyes and nothing else, and she only has very very subtle darkness :)

I think this is where the quote "there are no rules in makeup" apply... If it works for them, it works... And we should be happy for that! =]

Oh, and it's not much for dark circles as it is for puffiness and concealing of the shadows at result from them. It just has pigments that help conceal, but the light reflecting particles do more of the work than something salmon colored.

Touché éclat is used wrong by everyone even on their counter it's an illuminator it's not to be used as a concealer so avoid putting it on blemishes and dark circles. Apply it around the outside corner of the eye to lift it and make the eye seem bigger it should not be applied under the eye .

Touche Eclat is great for drawing light and brightness to the undereye area and making you look more awake! If you have a lot of darkness you may have to conceal first and then lightly apply the touche eclat over, but if you don't have any you wouldn't need to. I prefer Smashbox Photo Op Eye Brightener over Touche Eclat, which alot of people also misuse that product as well because they think of it as a concealer.

On the model I just worked with, her dark circles weren't that bad but I just put some concealer under her eyes, then I put the YSL Touche Eclat right in the inner part of her eyes and it made them looks so much brighter.

A light reflecting concealer or illuminator should only be used on the deepest part of your dark circles, that helps lifting that area out which makes the surface appear flat. But you're totally right about it looking even worse if you smack it on over your whole bottom lid! On the other hand I personally don't think that any undereye concealer should be used that way.

I love the Touche Eclat and athough I don't think I have super dark circles but I always conceal and then use the eclat at the inner corners to open up the eyes and bring in some light and when I used it on it's own It really didn't do much for me.

the touche eclat is actually not a concealer. It is a radiance pen, so it is really just helping to bring light to a dark area. If I use it on a client for the under eye area, I like to layer it with an actual concealer
