UGH, Acne seriously ruined high school for me. I wish I was kididng, but I'm not. So trust me when I say I feel your pain and understand you wanting to cover it up!

A good drugstore foundation is Revlon's Color Stay. It's pretty heavy, which is nice when you feel like you need to cover up. Invest in a concealer too. I like Maybelline's concealer stick. Don't forget to add a little color back into your cheeks with some blush or you'll end up looking like a zombie. Wear whatever/however much makeup you need to wear to feel comfortable and confident, you deserve to feel those things. If make up does that for you, do it!

But seriously, at the end of the day, don't get too down on your skin. Acne is so not your fault. And I know that kids are mean and might make comments but they're the ones who are probably going to end up working at Hotdog on a Stick for the rest of their lives (living in their parent's converted garage) so don't even sweat those people. I'm serious.

If you really just can't stand it and it's making you super self conscious tell your parents to take you to the dermatologist already. And if they resist, here's what you say, I swear this will work: "I know it might seem like a superficial thing but I really feel like my Acne is holding me back. I feel like I missing out on things in life because I'm too self conscious about my face. You don't want me to have regrets at this point of my life... do you mom/dad???" Make puppy dog eyes and definitely start crying if necessary.

Good luck!

I really recommend only using a concealer to hide blemishes... Foundations are for evening out your skin tone. (Then again I don't know HOW bad your acne is, you definitely don't want to use concealer ALL over your face)

If you just have blemishes here and there or patches of breakouts, use a good concealer.. like Mac Studio Finish I think it is? I always forget.. the one in the flip open pot like the eyeshadows. It's a thick consistency with great pigmentation.

Use your foundation to just even up things, and use the concealer to cover the blemishes.. Otherwise, you will look cakey. And if your foundation is not staying on,, you can always try to set it with a pressed powder or loose powder. I found that pressing the powder into your skin with a puff works well... A brush will give you more of a light-handed application. Remember to use oil blotting sheets as well.. or you could even try a make up setting spray. ELF has a cheap on for I believe $3.00

Hope this helps! I invite you to check out my YouTube channel (the link will be beneath this post) for more beauty tips and tricks =)

Also.. what is your skincare routine like? And your diet?

If I'm using liquid foundation I like using salma hayek's concealer stick(you can get it at the drugstore at CVS) it's inexpensive, and it covers really well, you also get a 2 in one product with it, it has a solid and liquid form in the same container. LOVE it!
If I'm having a really red faced inflamed day, my bare minerals covers it REALLY well. It's one of my favorite foundations and I love that you can spot conceal with it also and it's also nice because they have a really large range of colors to chose from. One that I used to use religiously was benefits bo-ing concealer, it's industrial strength and it can basically cover anything, esp. discolorations.. it's a bit pricey but it works good. If youre looking for a new routine all together I'd check out bare minerals.

Concealer: Hard Candy glamoflauge concealer (buy at walmart)
Foundation: Revlon Colorstay liquid foundation. (buy at pretty much every drug store)
And as for the acne, have you tried Murad products? They're seriously amazing, and they will change your skin in a snap! My skin used to be terrible, and now it's SOOO much freaking better! ^.^ I'm in no way product endorsing (well, maybe a little! But just because it's so darn amazing!), I just think that everyone should know about this brand! http://www.murad.com/acne-kit.jsp This is what I started out with! I know that I can't live without the Clarifying Cleanser, and I always make sure I have some. I also love the Green Tea moisturizer from Proactiv; or the Dramatically Different moisturizing Gel from Clinique. HOPE I HEEEEELPED!!! lol

Try Missha's BB cream or Etude House, Tony Moly, Skin Food etc...

I recommend using MUFE full concealer too. It stays on all day and it's thick enough to fully cover redness and acne. I also use bobbi brown's skin foundation because it's light and good for sensitive skin. You don't want to use any irritating cosmetics! I found MAC to be the worst for me in making me break out.

I'm 14 and I recommend instead of covering the acne up you can always try to get rid of it? Like not popping it, but I used to have severe dry skin to the point where it looked like my face had burns on it and it hurt to talk and it was all around my mouth. If you acne is actually severe severe, not just occasional breakouts, I'd go to the dermatologist. They saved my life, lol. Topical creams usually don't work so well, I take a pill two times a day and my skin improved after four days. THEN, after 'fixing' the inside problems that are causing your acne, I would worry about make up. Obviously until then you can do all of their suggestions ^^^ up there.
Just wondering, the skincare products you use- do a lot of them have some kind of alcohol in them? Avoid alcohol in skin products like the plague, they mayy cause your acne, but they also dry out your skin.
Oh and when I was 13 my skin would flake literally EVERYWHERE on my face. Every tiny place on my skin flaked. People bullied me and said, 'Kim your skin is kind of really gross, just by moisturizer' or 'Do you even try to take care of your skin?' When this happens, no matter how horrible they make you feel, I would walk through the halls with my shoulders back and my head high (not in a cocky way) but just to subtly let them know, hey, I'm human too, but the best part is while you waste your time doing this, I'm living. so like, bye.
have a lovely 2012(:

@Kim P. I totally agree! Getting rid of the acne is more important than covering it up. I recommend Murad! It's fantastic!
