Ever changed up your perfume to change your attitude?
I was recently reading an article about French women and their perfume selections. So apparently they choose a scent very young and it often remains their "signature scent" through their entire life. They're also totally invested in the art of being utterly sexy at all times. The top sellers in France remain classics like Chanel no. 5, Mugler's Angel, Givenchy, Lancome Tresor, etc... none of which I own.. or even like!!
So *gasp* I'm not sexy like a French woman apparently... BUT the article totally inspired me to try something totally different. I'm used to wearing J'Adore (Dior), L.A.M.B., and Issey Miyake. So on my last shopping outting I purchased some scents without testing them first, just so I'd realllly be going out of my usual comfort zone.
My goal was clean and classy frangrances. I ended up with Ralph Lauren's Turquoise, Banana Republic W, and Michael Kors (and OK, I knew what the Kors smelled like but I really wanted it!). I have to say, a new fragrance has made me feel like a new girl.... I think I might even try sporting some of the classics soon!... Maybe.

I love the original Michael Kors! Tuberose Heaven! I just purchased Stella for the same reason, I am trying to climb out of my comfort zone lately, too! How do you like the new scents?

I read that article too about french women. Don't ever ask a French woman where she got her fragrance because she won't tell you! Hehe. I love the idea of this, however, I like trying new scents.

I really like the new scents. I forgot to mention that I also picked up the new Jennifer Aniston fragrance and it's definitely a tie between that and the MK for my new fav.

OOhh hmm well ... it's a pretty "clean" fragrance... so not too musky or vanilla-y, more jasmine scented than anything else, really. It's different than anything else I have and I really like it!

I picked mine up at Sephora but just yesterday I saw it for quite a bit less than what I paid at Nordstrom Rack.

Before I was really keen on the Escada scents. They were tropical and fruity and playful. Then I got Dolce and Gabbana l'imperatrice, which was more sophisticated. I ended up feeling more mature and and happy. The Escada scents made me feel a bit more younger and playful than I felt. When I wear Hot Couture by Givenchy I feel glamorous and sexy. I am looking into deeper vanilla musky scents they seem seductive and sexy and inviting to me. Boyfriend by Kate Walsh is next on my list.

@ Alexis- OOooh I've been wanting to go back to a vanilla-based scent for special nights. I used to wear LaVanilla (the pink one.. can't remember which scent that was exactly) but it was a bit too candy sweet smelling. Is Boyfriend a vanilla scent?

I would say it is. Once you apply it you definitely smell the vanilla and as it wears you can smell the other notes coming through but the vanilla is still in there. The notes are: Dark Plum, Myrrh, Night Blooming Jasmine, Benzoin Tears, Skin Musk, Golden Amber, Vanilla Wood. Sephora says the style is: Sensual. Vanilla. Amber. It's a more complex vanilla. I would say. :)
