When your waiting for the lash glue to get tacky bend them so that they fit perfectly to the shape of your eyes. Must lashes are just pin straight so it's best to kind of bend them a bit and work them into shape. I didn't know this at first when I started using false lashes and they would ALWAYS just come off.
Another thing is make sure the glue is completely dry before you go a head and continue your eye make up. Another mistake of mines lol.

Also, make sure they're not too wide, so they fit your regular lash line...if they are it'll be a pain to get them on and keep them on! =]

Also apply more glue to the beginning and end of lash. That keeps them from lifting at the edges

Making sure to trim them to fit your eye is a definite must!
I had a lot of trouble applying false lashes for the longest time because they didn't fit my eye and whenever I went to apply them, they slid everywhere!
Now this is what I do:
1. Put against my eye and see how much I need to trim off.
2. Trim the excess.
3. Apply glue to one of the lashes, sit it down and allow it time to get tacky while you apply glue to the other lash band.
4. I start with the lash that has had the glue on it the longest. I pick it up with a set of tweezers and use the tweezers to place them against my lashline.
Personally, I like to place them in the center then make sure the outer corner is placed properly and securely then I move to the inner corner and pay extra attention since that is where I usually get lifting and I will use my tweezers to hold down the inner corner until I'm sure that it's nice and secure.
Then I repeat the fourth step with the other eye.
But you may want to apply glue to each lash band one at a time since it may take you a little longer.
Just make sure you allow the glue enough time to get tacky.
I thought I would never get it, but practice truly does make perfect!

Okay, so here's the thing...my eyes aren't the ideal type for full fake eyelashes, so I adjust the falsies and not my eyes. I've tried many many times to put them on but they always turn out looking weird. I make my own false lashes by taking an ordinary pair and adjusting them and they fit perfect! I used my eyeliner not only to fill in the spaces between my real lashes and the false lashes but as a guide . Also I hold my mirror lower so I'm looking down slightly not straight on & it allows me to see where i'm applying them. Holding the lashes at the outer part, I start placing them inward working out till you have the whole lash on. Trying to get the whole thing on in one try could get messy or they could end up crooked. Hope that helps a bit.

Use demi-lashes to first get the hang of handing such a delicate thing around your eyes. Once you get used to manuevering them [the ones that are anywhere from 1/4 - 3/4 the length of your lid] you can graduate to full lashes. That's what I did, and I completely feel you: lashes are the hardest things to get a hang of!

I like the lash glue that comes on a wand that way all you do is apply the wand to the lashed and it doesn't make a mess.
