I FINALLY found a local fishing store that has hackle feathers. I want to purchase them and DIY. I want to know if anyone knows how to bond the feathers together prior to putting them in your hair. I have read that you use Keratin... I just dont know how. Any advise from anyone?

I got a great deal. I paid $21.00 for #2 Saddle Grizzly. They charged me wrong. It was supposed to be $60.00 but when I went to the register it was $21.00. I need to figure out the whole coloring thing. I dont know if I will sell them online (etsy). I might just make some and sell around where I live. I am so excited. I havent done a DIY in so long. I just hope that it comes out right. Im kinda nervous. I dont want to ruin any feathers. OH.... and I will post pics once Im done.

P.S. Here is a picture of what I bought.

About how long are they?

@Keshonta...They are all different lengths. Some are really short and others are long.
@Janelle... do you think that Manic Panic would work? I am trying to find something that I have locally so I dont have to order over the internet.

I didn't think of that! I actually went to a local salon and got it bonded, 3 feathers for $25. It was cheaper than these websites that sell the kits! Def post pic when you're done!

What are you using to dye the feathers? I haven't been able to find anywhere that explains how to do it.

I am going to use Ritt Dye. I have been meaning to try it... but school is taking up so much of my time. I think about it all the time... I am going to try to find time to do it this weekend or around July 4th. The sooner the better.
