I've always wanted to try colored contacts but I have dark eyes and I don't want to waste money if they don't work (i'm on a budget lol!)

I was going to try out FreshLook but figured I'd check here for any tips...

I wear contacts regularly and tried out some colored contacts a few years back. Since contact lenses require a prescription, you want to be sure you like the look of the colored lens before you buy a box of 8.. Usually if you go to the manufacturer's website (i.e. Freshlook), they offer a free trial pair coupon that you take to your optometrist and get fitted for it. Then you can try that pair out for the week and see if they irritate your eyes.

In my experience, colored lenses were irritating because they weren't as soft as regular contacts :(

Ohh good to know, do you think they're all not as soft (i don't want my eyes to hurt!!)

I use to wear green colored contacts from FreshLook. Even though I have dark brown eyes, the green contacts showed up very well. I followed the directions and only wore them for two weeks before throwing them out. I never had any issues with them since they always felt pretty comfortable when I wore them. Just be sure not to purchase the knock off ones that don't have prescriptions to them. They don't let your eyes breathe and can be quite damaging.

I have dark brown eyes...sometimes people believe that they are black 0_o but anyhoot I used to wear Freshlook gray contacts and they looked great on me. You can try them out in the stores, like Walmart before you purchase them I believe

I think generally colored contacts would work on dark colored eyes - it would just depend on how strong the color shows. I have dark brown eyes, and I've tried greens, purples and grays - all which showed up. Freshlook isn't too bad, Freshkon's great and Enkore gives you a bigger eyes. Hope you find one that suits your look! :)

I worked for an Optometrist for 4 years and Freshlooks were the most popular colored lenses. Try Freshlooks Colorblends. I have the darkest of brown eyes, and Freshlooks Green and Pure Hazel looked really pretty. If you want to illuminate your eyes, try Freshlook Radiance =)

You need to try Korean Circle Lenses they are cheap, and high quality. You can start with Dueba Blossom Brown, Neo Cosmo Glamour Gray, Dueba Volte Series, Beaucon Vibrant Match Series, Geo Hurricane Brown are a few that get the job done. Good luck

How about Paris Hilton's brand? Her 'blue' eyes look real in photos. I've read they are Coopervision Natural Touch.
I've been wearing reg contacts for years and tried colored ones once. I think i the brand was Freshlook. it totally didn't work for me. It didn't feel comfortable how they sat on my eyeball, and i'd see flashes of color occasionally.

I'd save your money anyways.. Contacts aren't good for your eyes. I guess if you realllly want to just try them out once in a great while it would probably be fine, but prolonged wearing of contacts can actually wear away at the surface of your eyeball! Not only that, but eye infections are way more likely if you're putitng things in your eyes. Those things don't add up to a fun time for me (even if I DO really want to see what blue eyes would look like on me...).  Hmpf.

i have colored contacts and i have dark eyes. I don't know what brand I have but I know I got them from a women's shoe store in the mall called Senses for 16 bucks a pair. I have a picture of my colored contacts on my beautylish.
I say just go for it.
