essence and crown brush are really under rated. essence has really high quality products for a drugstore brand alot of people think it's more oriented towards younger girls but the products are great and are more mature than people think. crown brush has really good brushes for a fraction of the price of any mac brush the most i have spent on a brush on that sight is probably not more than $8

Re: Crown Brush.
It's hit and miss really with that company. I've heard so many good things about it and just as many bad things.
Underrated brands: Bead Head cosmetics. Actually some of their stuff is really good. Another underrated brand, EMANI minerals. It's a vegan product that's sold in beauty salons and it's pretty nice same with Young Blood Minerals.

thanks for the great info ladies, I only know mainstream makeup companies! I've heard of Hard Candy but since I haven't been in a walmart in 7+ years, I thought that company was completely dissolved.
Garden Botanika has a nice cosmetics line, it's sold online and in some JC Penney stores. Their makeup is natural and mineral. Think Body Shop but greener. xoxo

^ Some of the Hard Candy is a hit and miss as well. Love the lip glosses and body sticks but not crazy about the shadows. I have the primer, concealer palette, blush and a few other items (Show Girl's secret). Like I said, hit and miss. The biggest miss is that Walmart is the worst place to buy Hard Candy, and the only place, since the displays at my local Walmarts (we have three) tend to be messy/trashed or empty.

yeah, i'd probably buy 100 x more drugstore lipsticks except every time I'm in there (target, CVS..) I see ppl swiping product on their hands.
EWWWW! Know where your hands have been? And someone is supposed to buy that and put it on their mouth?! Shame on you! LOL

Black Radiance is very underrated. They have very good, and very pigmented eyeshadows, lipsticks, and lip glosses.

what happened to the reply button? anyway.. i agree with laura gellar and mica bella.. i hate mineral makeup but mica bella made me look "like a porcelain statue" as someone put it that day. been hooked since then, and nothing beats their tease, striptease, and cant recall what the other colour is but its a natural crease colour, for a natural eye look..
and last but not least, lise watier is terrific!!!!
a better question would be what are the overrated products! cough.. ELF..

I agree about Hard Candy. I went to one walmart determined to buy one of their lipsticks, first of all all the lipsticks were not in the right spot so I sat and searched for the color i was looking for, I found one....... and guess what? some stupid person had to use it, I hope the next Walmart I look at has more respectful people shopping there. Its sucks because I actually like when you can open the lipsticks because its easier to actually see the color, but I dont ever use them... I guess they just need testers out or something, I would love to see hard candy at Target or Ulta or something because Walmart just sucks.

I went to Walmart to look for the camouflage concealer and I was like "Wow". The whole section looked ransacked. Lipstick, and eyeliner markings all over. All the boxes open, items all over the place. That turned me off to the brand completely.
I agree that Youngblood Mineral Makeup is underrated to Bare Minerals. It doesn't help only salons, etc. sell the brand. I was introduced to it because an old coworker said her mom had a skin condition, and Young Blood was the only mineral brand that covered it up completely.

I took that picture recently of my local Walmart's HC section and don't let it fool you. Either stuff was empty, open, used, damaged or there was only one of that item in the slot but not buyable because of one of the above.

If a makeup product is cheap, people don't buy it?! Something I never got. I always understood you win some you lose some, not all cheap products are excellent for their price, some just aren't even worth that one dollar. But I love Miss Sporty products, they are reasonably priced aswell as good quality products. I have 2 of their eyeliners which I love, constantly use them. One is in like a bright matte white, goes on well, and isnt a pencil but sort of like a pen, you twist the bottom. I also have a shocking blue eyeliner pen.
Might I also mention Royal Cosmetic Connections, the quality is seriously amazing, has seriously great prices - e.g, Eyelash Curler for like a dollar! And the brushes are amazing, there is a wide range, actually.
EDIT;; Barry M. CHECK IT OUT NOWWW! Its fab, great prices, great colours, the nail colours are the best. There are shades and colours for everyone.

I went to another Walmart today and checked out the makeup aisles and I was so happy! It looked more like my local target's makeup section, nice and clean and organized. Even the Hard Candy section looked pretty good.

Cargo... I was actually saddened they pulled it from Sephora, but at least they're still being carried by Ulta. I've just now discovered their blushes thanks to blushingpixie's videos, and OMG - <3

I never hear anyone talk about Dior I just discovered their foundation and I got the perfect match finally since I have problem with being uber fair with olive undertones. Another brand is Revlon I still think they some of the best lipsticks out there

hard candy, overall, tends to be hit and miss. like the first few things i got were the glamoflage, take me out liners, and eye smudge. the glamoflage actually gave pretty good coverage, i was fairly impressed. the liners came in some gorgeous colors and i found they held up fairly well (though, i found it's best to set them with eyeshadow on top). the eye smudges, to me were an epic fail... they appealed to me with their adorable packaging and names like "rocker chick" and even came with a cute little duo brush/smudger. so i caved and got 2 (the rocker chick, and i can't remember the name of the other...). the back said it could be used as eyeshadow, liner, you name it and could be smudged out for a smoky look. so i tried the blue one first and within 10mins it creased! so i thought, okay, i'll just use it as a base and set it with shadow... even at it's thinnest, it creased... i thought wtf!? such pretty colors too! that put me off for a while, then i tried a few other products and realized, it's like elf. pretty much a hit or miss. some things are great, others not so much.

I think what's underrated espcially with many teen girls ( girls around my age and my school ) refuse to buy those ebay palletes or coastal scents because they're inlove with individual eyeshadows. I don't see the whole hubbub about it, I love having a variety at sucha cheap price because i'm college student dirt poor lol.
I especially love BH cosmetics, not because they're anything different from coastal palettes, but because they're much faster on shipping and they're alot more helpful when answering questions in customer service! I'm definitely gonna check out that royal brand though.

I love Skinn Cosmetics, about a month ago they were doing an even on Hautelook for Skinn Cosmetics (which I had never heard from until then) so I wanted to tryout out and I LOVED it. The eye shadows are beautiful, pigmented and true to color :)
