do you use a primer? for the moment i use the oil control primer that bare minerals has. it seems to work nicely with a normal foundation. also, you should use a powder over top of the foundation (if its liquid.) whether it be translucent or match your skin tone. and you could also set it with a de-slick spray which urban decay or skindinavia .hope this helps you some!

I have super oily and what I've used lately is Extra virgin olive oil as moisturizer right after the shower. It adds enough moisture that my face doesn't get super oily like it used to. Just wait till you are dressed and remove excess oil with a tissue and your good to go.
Quick tip: Throughout the day, when my face is a bit oily, I just spray a bit of water and let it sit for a few seconds and then dry it with a tissue or cotton pad in a dabbing motion. It doesn't take your makeup off, as long as your gentle.

I have very oily skin and I've found that the Revlon Colorstay Foundation is the BEST foundation for my skin! At the end of the day, my skin is still not oily at all. Also make sure that the facial cleanser or products you are using are not too abrasive or strong for your skin - strong products damage your skin so your skin overproduces oil to repair itself.

I have oily skin also, and something I use to skip was moisturizing because of this problem. I do not recommend doing that at all! I moisturize every morning and night now. Something really helped me with foundations is priming, I use l'oreal magic perfecting primer (about 12 dollars at the drug store). Another helpful thing is really trying different foundations, for a higher end foundation I really like Lancome Teint Miracle foundation and for drugstore either True Match by l'oreal or Revlon color stay. Also, always use a setting powder after foundation and also bring a pressed powder with you to do spot touch ups.
My last tip is to avoid over highlighting! This can make you look way too shiny!
Hope this helped

Moisturize....for the most part skin is goofy. If you use cleansers for oily skin it generally dries you skin out and then your skin will over produce oil to compensate or your face will feel like the Sehara desert for a little while then few days later the oil in your face could help reduce gas prices. So you have to confuse your skin by adding more moisture.

Invest in rice paper. They are small enough to carry around in your purse and you can dab your face during the day. It won't smudge or disrupt your makeup. Also, a trick I learned recently is if your skin is already oily, on hot/humid days before you apply your primer to apply an antiperspirant deodorant to your t-zone. It helps your makeup to set and not run during those really hot/humid days. Especially, if you're going to be outside.

Good skin care helps with good makeup. I have extremely oily skin and the first step to perfect makeup application is a perfect skin care regi. Next use a good silicone free primer. I like Cargo activating face primer because it also has skin care ingredients to help reduce pore size (large pore = more oil). While we're on the subject of CARGO, I also love their oil-free foundation. Full coverage without all the oil and heaviness of other full coverage foundations. Finally set with powder. I like to buff my powder on so that I don't look made up. One last touch up trick. I am usually in a restroom when I notice a shine one my face so (as gross as it sounds) I blot my face with the toilet seat covers. Same paper as blotting tissue but free and large enough to blot the whole face. Hope that helps and Good Luck!!!

being in the esthetics program here in cali i see this every single day with my clients, & i can definitely relate. with oily skin theres not a lot that we can do, we can't get rid of it but only control it. u want to start out with good skin regimen, if you use a lot of moisturizer, it will dry it out so maybe get a combo skin cleaner/mositurizer. over the counter products only penetrate on top of the skin as oppose to professional products it really targets under the skin. & with professional products a lil goes a long way even though its a lil pricey. hope that helps!

I love Image matte moisturizer with SPF 30, it's not oily at all but leaves your skin feel soft. Then I use Jane Iredale liquid mineral foundation - this stuff is awesome, but does not photograph well because it's mineral. For every day though, it's great.

Hello! I hope this helps, I am a fellow " greaser" lol
I second the rice paper, I always have that and the $3 ELF Translucent Mattifying Powder compact with me. I also apply a very thin layer of Milk of Magnesia to my face before I apply makeup, with very good results. I know, sounds weird, but it's been a miracle for my skin! I used to be oily within minutes of applying powder after foundation. I am in Florida, and I have a physical job....not great for oily skin! But this works, and it doesn't break me out. Since I am prone to acne, I have to be really careful!

Hi =)
I am a Licensed Esthetician with oily skin. I wrote a few articles on oily skin, if you have any questions just ask. My favorite products:
1) Neostrata antibacterial facial wash
2) clean & clear oil absorbing sheets
3) a good oil absorbing primer..sillicone primers can make oily skin worse, but if you find something that works stick with it.
