What are your thoughts, opinions, concerns, and/or remarks about dip dying hair? Anyone done it before?

I'm thinking of doing the more natural look (instead of the brightly colored ends--love it, but just won't be good for work and things), like a not so blonde more coppery ends Rachel Bilson sort of thing. Also, I definitely don't want that line where you can tell when the dying starts and ends all around my hair. Not cute!
