Personally, I like my drug store mascaras and don't see much of a difference between them and more expensive ones. But I'm curious...

Who prefers drugstore mascaras and who prefers high end ones? What's the difference?

Personally I like to stick with my drugstore mascara because it expires within 3 months or so and I'm forking out $30 every 3 months but its would be nice to try them high end mascaras haha.
I don't think there's a difference between the two so you're not missing out ;)

I like the midrange ones, like No 7, Collection 2000 is too goopy and clumpy for me :P

Sometimes there is no difference and sometimes there is a world of difference! Lots of people swear by benefit mascaras and some think Lashblast is the tops. I am so digging They're Real by Benefit but I love Maybeline's Falsies! If you want to try high end mascaras, use hautelook or look for kits that contain the mini mascara (that way you are getting more bang for your buck). Another thing you can do is go to make up counters and they usually are able to use the disposable wands so you can at least test the formula on your lashes.

I find I'm quite versatile with mascara, not bragging or anything but i can make pretty much any rubbish mascara look half decent on my lashes :P. I love maybelline mascaras, especially Colossal and Great Lash so definitely drugstore :)

I usually don't, I tend not to wear mascara as it is anyways and I'd much rather spend my money on eyeshadows as opposed to mascara that I'd have to toss soon

i loveeee the benefit bad gal lash... thats the only high-end mascara i'd go... i usually just wear that or covergirl lash blast

I actually just got a sample of Benefit's BADgal lash from Ulta when they had their free sample set with a Benefit purchase over $25... I think it's... okay... it didn't impress me TOO much... I honestly think I like the L'Oreal Voluminous Millions of Lashes better... =/

I end up going higher end because the drugstore ones seem to make my lashes break off

I would absoultley not buy a high end mascara. They are too hard to keep up with, unless you want to spend half of your paycheck on a mascara, when drugstore ones off the same thing, with a quarter of the price as a higher end one, such as a MAC mascara. You choose.

I love the Sephora brand mascaras! They're fairly inexpensive compared to the other high end mascaras they sell. I also love Covergirl's Lash Blast but I think I'm going to check out Maybelline Falsies mascara next because I've heard great things about it.

I have never tried a high end one because I have always had a lot of luck with drugstore. Im currently loving the L'Oreal Voluminous Carbon Black Mascara but I wanna try the telescopic one... anywho, maybe one day I'll try a high end one, but I dont feel they are worth the money like the high end eye shadows and what not are!

I have high end mascaras but you can find good drugstore mascaras! If you ever want to try the high end ones and not go out testing them one by one, try sephora's lash blast samplers. I'm not sure if they are out right now but I received it as a gift and I've found really great mascaras through that! Such as MUFE's smokey lash + this Hourglass mascara which is my all time favorite! I would have never tried an hourglass product to begin with so.. that was kind of awesome!

I adore my lancome vibrating mascara, £20 worth every penny!

I've never purchased a high-end mascara. I don't think it's worth it, given you're going to have to toss it after three months or so anyway. I'd rather spend the dosh on something else.

I buy only high-end mascaras because I have Asian Lashes that can't stand up to the liquidy weight cheaper DS brands have. MUFE smokey lash is my HG for life, even though it does dry out quickly, but I don't wear it every day, so it's no big deal. Volumizing AND lengthening in one tube, and so waterproof, it's a pain to take off w/o MUFE's Sense Eyes remover.

For a more natural look, I love Lancome's Definicils line.

I CAN'T justify buying high-end lipsticks though. My Revlon Colorbursts and Covergirl Liplasts have FANTASTIC pigmentation, and are WAY more moisturizing than ANY of my NARS, MUFE, LANCOME, SMASHBOX, etc. lipsticks I made the stupid move of purchasing online.

I only stick to drugstore mascaras only because I have stubborn lashes and only certain mascaras work for me. I have a hard time finding a mascara that works well for me and I would hate to spend a bunch of money on a high end mascara that doesn't suit my needs. Plus its wayy cheaper :P

I have only ever used drugstore mascara and the only one that hasn't been disappointing for me is CG's Lash Blast. I had a sample of Hourglass Film Noir Mascara and I liked it even though it was goopy. I definitely want to try out new ones, but I worry they won't be great and I am stuck with it.

@ Corina same here! Covergirl Lashblast is the one I can count on everytime!

Normally I don't because they're SO expensive, but I got the Sephora mascara sampler a few months ago and that's given me the chance to test out a lot of the popular ones. The only one that I rebought was the Laura Mercier Thickening mascara. It's incredibly volumizing. I have a video on how I think they all turned out with pictures, www.youtube.com/tonnsONE

The video is called "High End Mascara Smackdown"

I only purchase high end products that I can justify to myself that they are worth the money. Mascaras dry up far too quickly to bother buying high end, there are so many other drugstore brands that have equally good mascaras for half or even less than half the price.

However, if there ever happened to be a high end magical mascara that never dried up, I would purchase it for sure! ;)

I've actually been debating getting the Sephora sampler... There are so many mascaras that I actually feel the cost isn't bad... especially since even those smaller mascaras would last awhile.

I've thought about it too actually, little mascaras like that would be great for travel! But knowing me, I'd open them all and they'd dry up before I got a chance to use them up :(

@Korie definitely!!
So if you were to buy the sephora mini set, it would be just like the originals? Like is it the same formula and brush, just a smaller tube? Minis confuse me haha.
