Hi everyone! So today I received news from a friend that he wants me to be the makeup artist for a short film he's filming. I've done makeup for some small photoshoots with a friend but nothing like this. I know to make sure everything is sanitary (I have makeup spray sanitizer, sanitizing wipes, disposable mascara/lipstick wands).

Have any of you done makeup for film before? Any advice for me? Thanks so much<3

im just finished a film course so dependant on the lighting that he will be using, you'll probably need to make any foundations thicker/darker as the lights and the camera will wash the actors out. if you are doing special fx, again you need them to be strong and noticable and if there is colors, make them really really strong and in your face :)

Adding on to what Jordana said, foundations without SPF will be best for camera work. SPF in foundations can come across as looking to pale on the skin on camera. Also, staying away from foundations with a lot of sparkle is probably the best. If you want there to be a shimmer to the skin, I would use a powder to highlight the cheek bones and stuff. :D
