I got my hair cut short 2 years ago and at the moment it's just 2 inches below my shoulders. I don't want to get extensions because they are too expensive. Does anybody know any inexpensive alternatives to make my hair grow longer??

Drink lots of water, take vitamins (doesn't matter if there for hair growth or just a multivitamin they all will work the same), take care of your hair! don't straighten or curl it everyday and use hair masks or hair food(mask full of vitamins). This is how I'm growing mine out right now. Hope this helped!

I've heard the Mane and Tale shampoo is good for growing out hair. I'm probably going to pick some up and try it out because I just recently got my hair cut and got bangs that I hate and want them to grow back out quick. :(

Don't wash your hair as often.(but still bathe otherwise that would be really gross) try and wash it every 2-3 days this way your not stripping your hair of it's natural oils that help your hair grow faster:)

I used biotin, drink lots of water, not wash my hair every day, and stay away from heat tools (curling iron, straighter)

Keep in mind that anything that promises (shampoos, serums, etc) to grow your hair faster, thicker or healthier is bunk. Thickness is determined at birth, healthier hair is determined by your diet and health while the growth is determined not only by weather but the other two factors as well (birth and diet).

i worked so hard and did all the tricks that people said watched sooooooo any utube videos and got my hair super healthy but it still wouldn't grow! someone told me that genetically some peoples hair doesnt grow so i just got extensions loll!

it is true that some peoples hair just won't grow past a certain point. Definitely like other people said drink lots of water, you can take supplements like omega 3's which are very good for skin, nails, and hair or prenatal vitamins, stay away from harsh chemicals and heat tools, including trying not to use a hair dryer every time you wash your hair. :)

-Drink lots of water
-Don't wash it often..every other day (3 if possible)
-Don't color it
-Regularly cut it a little bit
-Don't sleep with your hair up..leave it as it is
-Try not to put too much gel, hair spray, etc.. only if really necessary
-Don't straighten it/curl it/put heat on it EVERY DAY
-& best of all: Let it air dry, instead of blow drying it.

Hope I helped. :)

thanks Maya, that's really good advice. Thanks Yasmin, at least now I won't be spending the ridiculous money on shampoos and conditioners :)

the biggest thing to help it grow is get it cut the appropriate amount of time...and get all the dead ends cut off...thats the most important or your hair won't grow!

Eat healthy and vitamins and trims to get rid of the dead ends.

Everything that everybody else said, but make sure you protect your ends. That is how you will retain any growth that you get.

keep it moisturized. your hair can break and it prevents it from growing out as quickly

reminded me of an article i read once: check this out it's very fascinating!!

I have been working on growing out my air since i decided to chop it all off 2 years ago. My mom has been a hairstylist for 24 years and recommended the following. These tips may not work for everyone but they have worked for me. First of all, the average person's hair will grow half an inch every month...don't expect a crazy miracle where it will miraculously grown 6inches in 2 months! Drink lots of water, take a multivitamin ( prenatal vitamins are great to or at GNC they have some specifically for hair and nail growth), and use heat styling tools to a minimum. When you do use heat, make sure to protect the hair and never use a flat iron on wet or damp hair unless its ment to. Put SPF on your hair when you are out in the sun, brush it regularly to stimulate the scalp, and eat foods rich in amino acids..which help your hair grow. I have also found that using mane and tale has helped my hair grown too!

Love it! all the advise above it true! Ill just add that hair follicles grow more rapidly with blood stimulation. Heat, and massage help stimulate blood vessels. Regular scalp treatments are wonderful they insure a healthy scalp and help hair grow by increasing your blood flow.

Water & Multivitamins..Biotin is great!

Patience. I tried & my patience is thin :(

Who knows lol. I am trying to achieve a bob but I have to wait until winter and then no pics for a long time lol

The best way is to massage your scalp; it will stimulate your scalp and make your hair grow faster. I do it when I'm rubbing in my shampoo.

Biotin vitamins are really good for hair and nail growth. Also , when your hair is wet brush it with a comb vs. a brush. A comb will do less damage to the ends of your hair which will help them to grow faster.
