The July 18, 2011 issue of "Consumer Reports - Shop Smart" Magazine has a great article on the Best Beauty Deals - Where to find them for less as well as great sites for freebies. I found my issue at Sam's Club, but I'm sure they sell it at Barnes and Noble, or other bookstores.
They had some of their "secret shoppers" go and price 38 different top products (ex. Revlon Colorstay Foundation, Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse, Loreal Voluminous Mascara, etc. etc.) and they did a score card on who had the cheapest/highest prices. The winner for the lowest price with 24 out of the 38 products was HarmonDiscount.com and the loser with the highest prices in 27 out of 38 products was CVS.
I checked the HarmonDiscount.com website, and they DO have quite a few products at excellent prices, but the only drawback to their site is that they don't carry the entire range, just specific products.
An example of their prices is as follows:
Revlon Colorstay Foundation - Harmon $9.79 CVS & Walgreens $13.11
Covergirl Cheekers Blush - Harmon & Target $3.79 CVS $5.29
Loreal Colour Riche Lipstick - Target $5.17 CVS $10.47
Maybelline Define - A- Line - Harmon $4.39 CVS $6.84
The magazine listed many many more products, as well as lots of other sites that offer Reward Programs (i.e. MAC - Back to MAC, Sephora - Beauty Insider, etc.) but, they also go into the Best overall beauty sites, and they have a nice chart that shows the companies that sell beauty products with their return polices, etc.
There is a LOT more info in the article, and I'd type out the ENTIRE thing for you if I could...but...I can't ;) So, I gave you the info that I thought was important!!
OH, the other "winners" for best prices were Walmart & Target, and the other "losers" were Walgreens and Drugstore.com.
I hope this helps you gals out!!
xoxo,
Tiffany

yea, they listed 25 out of the 38 that they priced, and CVS (or Walgreens, but mostly CVS) was the most expensive on almost all of them. I'll never buy makeup from either again! Well, OK, thats a little extreme...:) Maybe ill only buy it if its on sale :P

While we're on the topic of bargain drugstore finds... secret of cheap girls like me: The Dollar Tree! I know what you're thinking... but I've picked up some fantastic L'Oreal products there. For a $1... Oh yes.

Oh yes, ladies. PLEASE don't shop at CVS unless you absolutely HAVE to or they are having their 50%-75% off on cosmetics sale. it's always much more expensive than a Target or Walmart. I sometimes am able to pick up Revlon products at Big Lots, if any of you have one nearby.

Anybody shop at Rite Aid? I've never been into one. Was just wondering how they were with pricing compared to Walgreens.

When I lived in New Jersey, their prices I feel are about the same. I used to love Rite Aid. We don't have them in the South. Or at least I haven't seen 'em.

Oh okay, thanks. I've seen them in Tennessee and Alabama. You just gotta hunt for them haha. :)

Hmmmm... yup, I thought that CVS was expensive. Only time I go into one is when I'm in the city and need a pass for the public transportation...

What's cool about Rite Aid is that they'll let you return cosmetics, even after you open the packaging. A lot of stores won't let you do that..

It's always cheaper to buy at Walmart or Target than a drugstore like Rite Aid or CVS. I only go to the drug store if there's a good bogo.

@Angela, I always find great makeup products at the dollar tree. I went to the dollar tree the other day and found some l'oreal eyeshadows.

I forgot to ask when I made the original post...has anyone ever shopped at Harmon? I want to know if they are good business people...like, are the shipping times quick, or slow....hows their customer service? You know, all that stuff :) SOMETIMES cheap prices means cheap service. Hoping this isnt the case :)
