Recently, me and my friends have discussed some of the tricks that we learned from over the years to help improve our natural beauty. Such as covering your hair with uncooked egg white for more shine. putting tea bags over your eyes to reduce puffiness. rubbing your cheek bones to make your cheeks look smaller.
So now I am wondering if you have any tricks and tips you want to share. I am all for the natural stuff than buying expensive products. And it doesn't have to be beauty related remedies, it could be for being sick also. (When I have a sore throat or mucus, my mom makes me drink salt water)

I like to take a raw egg white and dip a cotton ball in it and rub it all over the face! It tightens your skin a lot and you can really feel it! Also you can put your nails in a lemon for 5-7 min to make them shine!

I definitely agree with you! I personally believe some products can be way too harsh on our skin, especially on our face. I have a video on how to get amazing soft skin! you can use it on your face, arms, hands, anywhere! check it out if you want :)

I love your blog Rebecca. I will bookmark it :).
I had never used avocado before but i should defiantly try. It seems like avocado and honey mix has many benefits. I should try it as a lotion to see if it works the same way :).

I definitely second the oats and egg whites! After I use oats on my face, there's almost NO redness left, and my face naturally gets pretty red!
I also like to use plain sea salt to exfoliate about once a month or whenever I feel a big breakout coming. The coarse texture exfoliates and the salt kills bacteria. Just don't grind it in!

does anyone know how to make a nurishing natural lipbalm? xoxo
Nov 26, 2011
Meidy M.
@michelle: olive oil doesnt clog your pores at all and is a good eye makeup remover.you can either add witch hazel, aloe vera water, or fltered water with it to make your own eye make remover. Grape seed oil is good for people with oily skin, not sure about people with dry skin. hope this helps <3 let me knw if youy have any more questions

@amy: hey amy if you want a natural lipbalm you can buy at stores, i suggest burts bees :) i love that stuff! but if you want to make your own heres a pretty good recipe
:)
1 tablespoon of beeswax pearls
1 tablespoon pure shea butter
2 tablespoons sweet almond oil
10-15 drops essential oils
1. melt beeswax, shea butter and, almond oil together. ( i did the double boiler method) **stir constantly with a whisk
2. after they liquify take it out of the heat and add the essential oils
3. YOU GOTTA WORK QUICK WITH THIS NEXT STEP AND CAREFUL AT THE SAME TIME: then with an empty container you want to put ur balm in, pour the mixture in. (i used 1oz containers i bought at a store)
let me know if u have any questions regarding this recipe

Egg White Mask on my skin tightens my pores and makes my skin feel lots firmer after a few uses! I also apply castor oil to my roots and it helps my hair grow in thicker and faster it seems. I also love love love using coffee grounds as an exfoliator in the winter, it really exfoliates well without irritation, and it helps to tighten your skin as well!

omgosh i have never heard of using coffee grinds as an exfoliator. how does it work exactly?
Nov 29, 2011
Cameron R.
It's really cool! I just keep a jar of it in my bathroom, and before washing with a loofah, I just massage the coffee grinds over my skin for a good 5 minutes. The caffeine helps wake you up, but it also helps to tighten your skin over time and increase tone.

The oats come in handy when you get a reaction to a face product because that's what I used when I figured out I was somewhat allergic to benzoyl peroxide. lol It's great!
I use rose water as a toner after washing face without it being too harsh like other toners. I feel that it works plus it leaves the skin smelling fresh and feeling soft. I also use rose water for my roots 15 minutes before I shower to help circulate the hair follicles for strong growing hair! :)

Rina, aside from Rose water helping your hair be stronger, would it help me grow my hair faster? I have been trying to grow out my short hair for a long time now, it grew only 2 inches in 1 year.
Cameron, you just gave me a new reason to buy coffee! :)

@Michelle I've seen many Indian articles about rose water but I can't find them. They have gorgeous hair! lol But, I've read that it's good for hair loss but its a process that has to be routine. With a consistence use of a couple months you should notice your hair being more stronger, thicker and longer since it helps circulate hair follicles.

also, I've heard that the Mane and Tail shampoo works well with hair growth since it has biotin. I haven't had a chance to use it but to some people it seems like it works! You can also try using biotin supplement which also helps in nail, skin and hair. But, if you do try using a small supplement cause I've heard some people got breakouts when using a large amount of dose. I hope this helped! :)
